always love when one of your videos or podcast hit like a sniper. last 2 months of 2023 going 2024, was an explosion of work. Time to tune the work steps, and break steps. The small graphics company I work for, broke a million in revenue, 2 months ago, and we are already by the end of February will break that record. Oh how I would love not to book anymore work after those deals are closed, and pace out more time to get all of our 6-7 employees to practice these self discipline things you are talking about. It definitely pays off in every angle of effort. There is inspiration and motivation everywhere, I love to take those breaks that keep me coming back to my work.

Good advice. Always make time to decompress! Overworking yourself may seem like Productivity, but usually ends up being detrimental to your long-term success...

Hello Daniel. Thank you for this well structured look at managing the headspace as an overview and (more importantly) as an ‘in the moment’ real world translation piece. My name is Al Gurr (not the former vice president) and I’m from the UK. I weave this type of creative work management within my deliveries as a lecturer at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and this is a useful and additional lens on this subject. I’m a big amateur photographer and use photography as a metaphor for music production. The creative head space, the canvas of the stereo field and lighting to ‘see reverb’ and to ‘see sound to a mic position’ are a perfect foil to catalyse an upgrade in creative outcomes for students in terms of quality and audience engagement. I really enjoy your stuff and have learnt so much from your deliveries. Many Thanks

Wow! This couldn't have come at a better time for me! The future of my career hinges on a conversation I am going to have with my boss this week, and I am going to use some concepts from this video in this conversation. If this conversation goes well, it will be life changing for me, my boss, and our entire department. The cool thing is that what I am facing this week has nothing to do with photography, but it is great advice that can be applied across the board. Thanks, and keep posting your amazing videos!

Thankx Daniel, very good advice. I think we all struggle one way or the other with this topic. I find it most difficult to find good goals. Once I have a good goal, I am motivated enough to work towards it and move forward but often I spend too much time thinking of worthy goals.

thanks a lot for those very useful tricks and structures! You really speak for the "creative mindset" which can't really thrive with the hustle culture!

I highly recommend the book “How to be Idle” by Tom Hodgkinson. It addresses this issue with humour and historical context. It’s the perfect handbook for life.
