Background score Scores well... Its so catchy...it sets tempo for the Story to proceed in such a pace..theres not a Boring moment... Always sonething or other Happening ...even in solitude.. Of Lizzy contemplating... Will he..wont he...💔🎊😄😎

The other: How am I to pay him back? (from memory) Apparently the novel says "How I shall ever repay him?" (same thing in Austen's language). Clearing Wickham's debts was probably five to ten thousand pounds. Money settled on Lydia was probably another five to ten thousand pounds. Upto twenty thousand pounds is no joke. Mrs Bennet's portion was only five thousand pounds, and the Longbourn estate income is two thousand pounds a year. Mr Gardiner might have been able to afford that but at the cost of his own business and his own children. Or the support he intended to offer his sister Mrs Bennet after her husband died. When Mrs Bennet exults in Lydia's marriage or says that as her uncle it is his duty, she fails to consider this. And the Wickhams will leech off Lydia's parents and her married sisters all their lives. Of course, in reality it is Mr Darcy with his twenty thousand a year who pays off Wickham and sees him married. The Gardiners probably pay for the costs of the wedding and the trip back to Longbourn.

I ended up reading that only a couple of years after the novel was published, the Battle of Waterloo took place. Had the characters lived in the real world, that would mean that Wickham, being placed in a Newcastle regiment, could very likely have died during that time. I like to headcanon that that's exactly what happened, since Wickham deserves it. Thus, Lydia is freed from her horrible marriage and returns to live with her parents. By this time, Mary and Kitty have gotten husbands of their own, so Mr. and Mrs. Bennet may devote all of their time to making certain that Lydia, now a widow, must learn how to behave. And since all of Lydia's older sisters have much better marriages of their own and run in nicer social circles, Lydia, after doing some maturing, gets a better husband herself as a result.

@@Kelaiah01 This scenario and the other scenario where Wickham gets killed in British North America (what is now Canada) are featured in at least two Lydia AU stories. Fanfiction at Archive of Our Own...

@@shinjineesen400 If I ever did my own version of P&P (which of course will never happen, but hey, I like to dream), I'd include two significant changes/add-on's: -Wickham dying, which would occur before Lizzie and Darcy get engaged, just for the sake of keeping that as the story's climax -have Mary be the one who gets married to Mr. Collins (this version would have Mary as a composite character with Charlotte).

I wish you'd have captured the last of his sentence. Thankfully the other commenter asked the question that I was going to ask. I've not had the pleasure of seeing this on the screen, but I hooe to do so soon. It's well written & the characters are excellent actors every one. Thank you for uploading this clip, it has peaked my desire to see it in it's entirety. 👏👏👏💐

I hope that you have had the chance to watch this series. It is so good. I love the movie with Keira Knightley but this is longer and goes into so much more detail, and it has Colin Firth.

@@atir2723 Hi Arir, Sadly I haven't had the pleasure as of yet. I was hoping YT would offer it in it's entirety & alsa not yet to the best of my knowledge. I'm having troubles with my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 & it's letting me know my phone is full. I don't know how a 128 G can have all of it's memory full? I'm not a techie, so I hsve to wait till stores are open to find out what happened. I'm an older woman with no children to help me to learn about this device. I know this must sound lame to the young ones out there who were raised ising these devices, but there are many my age that are still trying to figure them out. I was told to find a teenager. How many of you know a teenager that wants to help an older woman figure out how to use their device that is still trying to figure out the new terminology used to describe how one of these things📲 work? Help!! Lol! 🙋‍♀️ 🤷‍♀️
