I gotta say Ptula really knocked it out the park this past year, I have finally decided I’m not a fan of alphalete at all, never was, tried & hated it lol. Neutrals is my JAM! & I’d love to see activewear be or return to being affordable bc the prices that continue to skyrocket is insane! & ooooo this was the year of zipped hoodies for me!

I have never understood the hype of alphalete leggings - even when I was in the best shape of my life before I had my son they accentuated my lower belly. So annoying!

I love the fabric of the alphalete leggings and I wish I could find cheaper versions but nothing feels even remotely similar! Plus the sizing can be inconsistent and I feel like there shouldn't be THAT much of a difference between different colors or styles. That being said, their joggers are top tier.

Fell in love with Oner Active Effortless leggings in 2023! I feel like they are the perfect height for my shorter self and shorter torso and the slightly shorter scrunch is less visible.

I’m still hoping we get waist bands that give better lower tummy support. I have a narrow waist compared to the rest of my body but I have a mom pouch after having three children. Sometimes these tight waistbands make me bulge a little more in the lower tummy area. I hate it.

I’m not sure if our body is kinda the same, I have a mommy pouch too and the paragon leggings are perfect especially the levitate. But again, the fabric quality is nowhere near ptula(i love ptula). But it’s so flattering.

I am a high rise girly and I love that you are too! No low rise… EVER! My favorite this year is the Buffbunny aggressive scrunch. Absolutely love. I just wish brands would do the longer back rise seam, I certainly feel like those are more flattering on the glutes. I’m hoping 2024 we will see more of those 🤷🏻‍♀️

But you have to know - you've helped me reshape my workout wardrobe and general gym-vibe more than you know. And gym vibe is peace and confidence. Your descriptions and attention to every detail (which do matter) have been so helpful and spot on. I definitely bought the Rosa pocket shorts after seeing your reccomendation months ago and girlie they do not disappoint! The inseam length is so nice! Cute, stay in place, fit my phone and keys. If they relaunch at some point I’ll probably pick up another pair!

Definitely hoping for more full length tops. As a middle aged woman with a long torso, I struggled to find stuff this year. I am small on top and just ended up getting XXL in girls sizes for more modest options. I would also love to see more practical layering pieces for those of us who live in cold climates. The oversized stuff does not work well under a coat and crop stuff? No thanks. Will definitely look into that Nyla jacket, as it looks perfect.

If you like the Petula corset crop but wish it was a little longer, you should try the new align tank top from Lululemon that’s specifically for larger cup sizes. More coverages for those of us with larger chests. It hits at the top of most high rise leggings.

I bought a few pair of the leggings recommended in this video and can say with confidence that the Ptula Bare Pro Leggings changed my life. I think these are the only ones I will continue to buy from now on. Otherwise I'd rank them: #1 - Ptula Bare Pro Leggings ~ Super comfortable and stretchy, no pilling between the thighs, perfect rise, flattering #2 - Buffbunny Contour Pocket Leggings ~ Good structure and flattering seams, rise is a little too high on my short torso and it rolls down a little, followed the sizing chart but heard stitching popping/breaking multiple times as I tried them on, but don't see any problems with the stitching visually yet #3 - Alphalete Amplify Contour Legging ~ Very stretchy and comfortable but maybe better for thinner and more athletic body types as it kind of squishes the fat at the midsection downward and exaggerates love handles as a result #4 - Kamo Fitness FeatherLite Enhance Leggings ~ Nice material and compression but even for my short torso, the rise is a too short even after sizIng up, find myself just annoyingly pulling them up every 30 seconds

Hey Kathryn!! Loving the round up! So I'm in the UK and I discovered a new sports bra brand this year from a small UK Business who are winning all the awards in running magazines etc. It's Maaree - their Solidarity bra is SO good for ladies with big girls needing proper high impact. They size by band/cup and they're so adjustable and cute with overband tech. Downside - they're expensive lol. But they deserve all the love for creating the most comfortable, supportive bra I've ever tried. I'd totally recommend you give them a go - they do have a US warehouse too (but note sizing is probably UK sizing so you may need to check the guide if you were curious!) :D PS: I'm not affiliated or anything.. I realise I sound like an absolute fanatic I'm just so thrilled to have discovered them and like to share the joy.

As far as inclusivity goes, I never hear about torso length options, I tried the seirra leggings from ptula, they fit my legs perfectly but the rise was 1-2 inches below the bust, just looked ridiculous on me, didn’t make me feel good, so unfortunately a lot of leggings are just to high rise on me. I did try the kamo featherlight and I was surprised to see but they fit me how a true “high rise” for my body type would fit, probably midrise on a lot of people but they fit me so so good, my go to leggings, I have 7 pairs now 😁

I just think the amplify’s would be slightly better if they had a v shaped contour seem for the rear waist band above the glutes along with the hidden scrunch. Or maybe my butt just isn’t big enough for them to look good in the alphalete ones lol

Would you do a review on different gym bags at some point? I’m on the hunt for something that’s smaller than a regular sports bag but that still fits work stuff and lunch, change of clothes etc. I guess a backpack would work but they become so huge when you have to fit everything it. I highly recommend that you try on Athleta’s salutation flares and the bodysuit. They come in P, regular, and tall lengths. For my body, the size and the length that I bought are PERFECT. The flares flare out at the perfect length and they make my booty look great, there’s a good lift. Yes there’s a front seam but it’s not a problem in my opinion. For the bodysuit, there’s no front seam! The only potential drawback is the bust. I think it’s too low and people say it’s best for smaller cup sizes which may be true but it being low and me having a small cup means I can’t fill it out to make it very supportive. But the fabric and fit otherwise, 👌👌

Could you put a word in to the workout "fit"- designers" - I'd really really like to see long line bras. I don't see them anywhere. I'm pretty fit (competed, have fit business, tv gig) but I've had babies. My tummy is tight but there’s extra skin so when I workout out with leggings like Amplify (which I looove and can't live without) the waistband (which I also love bc of the compression) crinkles that skin if I do anything other than stand up straight. SO, I buy cheap long line bra’s on Amazon that meet the top of my legging. I don’t want to workout in a sports bra or crop top bc I don't want to worry that parts of me are gooshing out. -- I love you talking about the inclusivity of different body types. Surely I can't be the only one who isn't into showing their stomach while they workout. So if you could tell Alphalete, that’d be great ;D xo

The bare pro set, just got mine a couple weeks ago and I LOVE it. So much. Only thing I want to wear. Outrageously comfortable, stays in place super well, very flattering without feeling like too much. Personally, I hope Ptula keeps going with the built-in-bra tanks because I LOVE them and want more. Maybe a full-length one that’s similar to the Faith tank, which was a bit cropped for me. I don’t mind but I would love one that’s about the length of the alphalete one that launched (don’t have, didn’t get because I don’t want a form fitting tank without a built-in bra, seems pointless).

I agree, this year was super underwhelming for activewear. I just really hate that everything was mainly low support options and that just doesn't do it for me in the gym. I do think Buffbunny killed it with performance leggings this year. I loved the wonderlost and wicked pocket leggings. I also thought their alpha v2 was kinda cool. I agree about the kamo jacket- got it it in two colors. And I actually think gymshark made a comeback for me. I love their updated sweat seamless line (without the thong contour), and their marl seamless comeback as well.

Somebody help me. I just bought the curve buffbunny legging. I think it is not high rise, short on the ankles and the belly band is to soft for me, i like high compression. What legging should i go for next? I pay a lot of shipping and fees because i live in Europe

Love this video! I have to say...I do not like the alphalete contour leggings!! I've tried three pairs and they are too high waisted and that waffle snags so easy. I will keep the classics

I’m so sad about P’tula. I bought several things from them and they are either fully see through, or haven’t held up if I did keep them. I had a pair of their leggings pill, and the elastic started COMING OUT of the waistband within 4 months. So disappointed because I wanted to love them!
