Great video! I have a suggestion for a future video, if you're interested. I work for an airline and have the perk of flying for free. My coworkers and I are avid budget travelers, but we struggle to find content that meets our needs. Many KZfaqrs focus on booking first-class tickets and luxury hotels, but we prefer maximizing our travel experiences by going on as many trips as possible without spending too many points. There's a lack of content tailored for everyday low-budget airline and hotel workers. It might be a niche audience, but I believe it could resonate with many who share our lifestyle. Thanks 🐸

Thanks for the suggestion! There's definitely more than one way to travel using points, and certainly, maximizing your points to do the most amount of stays is one great strategy to use if you want to stretch your points out as much as possible. I'll definitely look into what I can find in terms of more budget stays, but off the top of my head, the Citi / WF can transfer to Choice hotels, which tend to have good redemptions, and on the airline side, using international transfer partners for domestic redemptions as well as the Southwest CP are two examples that could be quite useful. I know there are some other creators like Dugroz from Dugroz Reports who specialize in these more economy redemptions as well!

I’d love some of the same content. When booking for a family of four I’d have to open far too many cards to ever book business (internationally). For hotels I like Hyatt (with their fixed rate charts) and the IHG option of buying points on sale (at .5 cents) and booking in four night increments to get the fourth night free (and save my points for Hyatt/flights).

Where do you like to travel? If it’s domestic (assuming you’re in the US), use Turkish Miles&Smiles and fly United (domestic economy is 10k miles one way, whether it’s SFO-STS, EWR-HNL, or anything in between).

You can anchor Amex points with a bank account and debit card

After the person hits the minimum spend for the Amex Gold, they should get some Chase Ink cards to build out their Chase trifecta and get some SUBs. After they are satisfied with the amount of Ink cards they have, they should then get the Bilt card; this will bring them to 5/24 which will temporarily lock them out of any other Chase cards. They don't need to get the Amex BBP until right before May 2025 so that they can cancel the Amex Gold and keep the MR points.
@TheCreditFrog
@TheCreditFrog Ай бұрын
Great point! Yeah, they definitely don't need the card until right up to the point where the Gold card needs to be canceled. I like your idea of pumping out the welcome offers on the Ink cards and then get the Bilt card at the end. That's a great strategy to maximize the welcome offers, but getting all the cards that you want in the end. Thanks for a great suggestion!

That’s helpful! I didn’t add this to my question, but perhaps I should’ve - I do have a Chase Ink Cash card that I got in August 2023, and I was able to get the welcome bonus on the card, though the business that I opened it up for isn’t making any money yet, and I am not sure if I should dissolve the business (and thus the associated Ink Cash Card) and just starting again from scratch in the future So that’s also something I am thinking about 🤷‍♀️

I had the EveryDay card, but was rarely using it after the bonus I got, so I closed it earlier this year in January for the no fee Hilton Honors. My points will be safe since I have the BBP for a little over 2 years now.
@TheCreditFrog
@TheCreditFrog Ай бұрын
Nice! Yeah, the BBP is a much better card for this purpose. The HH is also great, especially if you got a great welcome offer on it!

Depend if don’t want to pay the annual fee then do the business plus, but if you want to hopefully get an offer upgrade to the gold maybe later than downgrade to green, just my opinion, also the business plus don’t report to personal credit, never do the personal cash preferred.
@TheCreditFrog
@TheCreditFrog Ай бұрын
Yeah, the ED/EDP card is not a great option for this purpose IMO. It would be great to get an upgrade offer on the card if it's a good one, but yeah, the Green downgrade could be another option, and personally, for his setup, I think it's definitely worth thinking about, especially since it looks like the core credit card setup is still being built out!

Sapphire Preferred without Freedom Flex and/or Freedom Unlimited is useless. Highly recommend Amex BB+, then CFF, then Bilt.
