This is the best advice I’ve heard yet! I’m almost 32 and have been on and off with art my entire life, as a child I had to “grow up” quickly to help my family and I always pushed art away. I’m finally wanting to pursue my dreams but I have a major case of imposter syndrome 😔 but this gives me hope! Thank you for your video! ❤

Thank you Mimi for the inspirational vd♡. Can relate to the "parked car"😂. I've told myself maybe one day I'll be an artist but never actually take time into practising and dedicating myself to my art. I was afraid that I won't be able to do it. Seeing all the great artists out there made me insecure about my own capabilities. Until I've decided that it doesn't matter that I'm not good now. That I'm very slow in the progress. Doing art brings me happiness and I'll do it slowly until I'm ready to call myself an artist.

I always have this quote that I remember every time I draw and it's: 'Done is better than perfect.' It helps me remember that each of my pieces doesn't have to be perfect, even if I think it could look better. The next piece will look better. And the piece after that will look even better! Create and don't look back until a year or two later when you compare to what you now do and notice the improvement. It's all about the big picture so don't sweat the small stuff :)

I'm so glad my advice was helpful ! I feel like we don't believe in ourselves enough, that is honestly the most important lesson I've learned throughout my life. Trusting in ourselves and in the process, and firmly believing that it's gonna be ok in the end has helped me get over a lot of barriers and difficulties. Thanks for such an inspiring video, and for always wanting to help others! You truly are a gem!!

This is all such great advice, thank you! My advice is to let others' art which may seem impossibly good inspire you rather than intimidate or stop you. Also, make art now with whatever you have on hand, rather than waiting to get the perfect supplies. Finally, reduce the daily friction to making art by setting things up in advance so you can start creating with as little effort as possible.

A lot of great art advice! Some that I should keep in mind too. The one art advice that I always say to myself is that there's this thought that there is no such thing as original ideas or original art anymore. Its all been done before, nothing new can be made ever again. However, I've learned its not the idea itself that an artist should focus on; its your own interpretation of said idea that really matters. There's only one of you in the world. Your interpretation of an existing idea is just as new and fresh than any previous idea from the past. Growing your artistic voice with a medium that you love is a very fulfilling experience and a journey worth taking. That's my advice :)

I'm in the stage where I'm realizing my art changes with my life. When I was in middle school, high school, college, etc I had so much time to draw personal art during lectures. Now I work and spend 50 hrs at work a week and 10+ hours a week driving to and from. So naturally I have so much less time to draw, and I spent the last year figuring how art would look like in this life style until things changed. I make much less art now but at least I can still draw and enjoy it 😊

Please don't take this the wrong way, but when you mentioned your style not being for everyone, I thought. I agree, your style, isn't the style I'm interested in learning, but I keep watching your videos because your KZfaq content is positive and encouraging. You make want to get better at drawing and just generally improve myself too. ❤

Little one I've been using for aspiring artists: You didn't pop out of the womb walking and talking. You had to go through a long process of building your muscles in your little body to get to the next milestone. Holding your head up, turning over from back to tummy, tummy to back, holding yourself up on hands and knees, crawling, then you walked. It's the same way with art. There's lots of milestones you need to cross before you can be a "good artist"
