The Best Backdrop For Studio Portrait Photography! (My Personal Choice)

Күн бұрынA backdrop is most often the most neglected piece of “Photography Equipment”. For me though, it is one of the factors that dictate the mood of an image. It always has to be given some thought, wether it will match your subjects personality, or will it clash or compliment the clothing of your subjects. In the years that I have been shooting portraits, this backdrop that I am discussing in this video is by far my favorite one.

Since prior to my entry into the wedding industry, I have been considered to be one of the most reputable lighting specialists in the Philippines, conducting workshops nationwide and have been featured in various photography magazines. I was also a multi-awarded portrait and advertising photographer.

And I thought you use seamless backdrop paper like the Savage branded ones and a bunch of muslin backgrounds. hahahaha you've given me some idea but hand painted canvas might be too expensive for some lol. and for possible topic: types of backdrops for photographers to buy lol

Because it’s grey, does it respond well to colored lights? I think grey is very versatile in that way.

I keep reading horror stories online of customers paying for Kate Backdrops and then having extra charges on their credit cards as well as difficult customer service issues...Has your opinion changed at all since making this video? Any reason why your using the commander and not controlling the flash in camera with the new update? Also do you do anything to add spice to backgrounds?

I am controlling the flash in camera as you can see whenever I show the menu system. But you still need the remote commander in order to control your flash off camera.

Actually with the last software update you don’t need the commander anymore.

Jiggie Alejandrino , it appears my source was wrong on that. I was given the impression it was supposed to control the flash direct from the camera WITHOUT the commander. Thanks for pointing this out.
