Many years ago,1986,I was on a trip to NYC and still remember eating a plain bagel with cream cheese on a ferry near the Statue of Liberty. It was good! Now I want to visit and go to your recommened places. Hopefully, next year! Happy Holidays to all!

Brooklyn Bagel is my favorite in the city. They have multiple locations, but the Chelsa location is the best. I think because it's older so there's extra grease on the stove top haha

@@joshuamarsh7098 I was surprisingly happy with the quality and taste. Packed really well to maintain the freshness. If I had a complaint (not really), it would be the quantity. I got ALOT of bagels for the price. Plus, they were pretty big. I am the only one in my household. Instructions indicated that they could be frozen. They weren't around long enough to freeze. Most of their orders seem to be set up for two or more people. Judging by the picture in your post, this probably will not be an issue Haven't ordered since, but I will. Hope this helps.

We went to Tompkins when we were there in October and it was by far the best I’ve ever had! There’s a place in tribeca next to the Sheraton hotel that’s a bit hidden called tribeca bagel and it was good too but Tompkins is still the best!

I love them all Russ & Daughters, Absolute Bagel, Brooklyn Bagel & Zabars. But Barney Greengrass is a few blocks away from me in the Upper West Side so I would say it’s my favorite in the Upper West Side😀, and Zabars second floor is closed 😀. Seriously, I cannot choose!

Barley malt syrup is not a byproduct of molasses production as stated by Chris of Thompkins Square Bagel at 13:47 in the video. Molasses is a byproduct of sugar production (cane or beet). Barley malt syrup is a sweetener produced from malted (sprouted) barley grain. The more you know.

Recently had a Tompkins Sq Bagel Lox deluxe = everything bagel with lox, cream cheese, tomatoes, onions, capers. It was amazing. Thought better than Russ & Daughters because the bagel was better.
