Hi I have a question and maybe u could help me. I am trying to move to New York in July. I got a job offer to work in the Bronx area. I am from Houston Tx I got a bad break at every job I worked at here in Texas. I am in search for a real cheap hotel close to the Bronx area to stay for a long period of time until I'm able to afford an apartment. Do u know any real cheap hotels or Hostels I can stay in for a long period of time? I would really appreciate it if u could give me some advice.

Katz's Hooray! Sarge's & 2nd Ave are excellent too but I most like the THICK hand-cut pastrami with the blackened crust at Katz's. So intense.

Love all the places you went, all so very good! However everyone has different tastes and everyone’s lists will be different. My personal favorites: Bagels: Essa Bagel if just a bagel. As you said if you want lox, have to go to Russ & Daughters. Cheesecake: Bamonte’s Italian Restaurant in Williamsburg. Pizza: just a slice, DiFara, whole pie, Lucali’s. Hot Dog, Papaya on 72nd St. Deli Sandwich: 3 way tie, Katz’s, Ben’s, Sarge’s.

Went with your recommendation back in March on our last day, Bleecker St. Pizza was one of the only places open on that Monday before lockdown, sent us home with full NYC bellies :-) The Nonna Maria slice is tremendous!

My tradition when I visit NYC is the first sabrett stand I see, I get a hot dog and I can’t eat anything before I find one 🤣 I love sabrett dogs, I’ll try out papaya dog next time I go! I’ve still got so much to see. Thank you for making my whole week, I’ve been so sad lately with everything going on and 2 NYC trips being cancelled... I’ll see ya in 2021 though!

You're right, Bleecker Street Pizza's Nona Maria slice is AWESOME...Ditto, Pastrami on Rye at 2nd Ave KOSHER DELI ...Katz's and Sarge's are Jewish style , not kosher, for those who care, but a must stop. Thanks for this fine video and keep up your labor of love, Jon.

I get hungry every time I eat these delicacies and then get a little sad because I unfortunately had to cancel my NY trip planned for June due to COVID-19, but postponed is not abandoned. 'Pizza, Italy invented it, New York made it it's own' Being Italian I love that quote :) Great video Jon & Adriana! All those famous NYC foods are amazing. I think my favourites are definitely pizza and bagels. I remember when I first moved here to NYC, waking up my first morning in the city, my hubby and I went out to get bagels for breakfast and it felt like such a New Yorker thing to do lol 🗽

Italian pizza from New York is terrible! It's bland and boring, with its tasteless toppings and mushy crust. Chicago pizza is the gold standard, with its thick and crispy crust, mouthwatering toppings and incredible sauce. Italian pizza from New York is the worst excuse for a pizza, while Chicago pizza is the pinnacle of pizza greatness.

I love NYC for its diversity and the food that comes along with that! I remember taking my mom to Katz’s for the first time, then going to Flushing last October! So many good food memories; can’t wait till I get back there to eat.

Try this tiny little place by Wall Street. I’m not exactly sure what the name is as I literally found it walking around around lunchtime looking for food. It has classic thin crust whole pizza. Kinda fancy but worth the find.

Dude everywhere is packed!! So far I was able to try Los Tacos No1 and Garfunkel's. I stood in line for quite a while to get some Wah Fung. Even at Trader Joe's I stood in line for like half an hour to pay. Pretty darn good places, but those waiting times can mess up one's plans and need to be taken into account when planning a visit.

Have you tried Pizza Rollio? Great spin on pizza with the thin crust. Adding sprouts and or fresh spinach is definitely a treat and different. It’s in the Plaza’s food court. Closed right now but something to checkout in the future.

Anytime my best friend and I were in the village area. We stopped by the hot dog 🌭 place back in the 1980's early 1990s I think the price was 2 frankfurters and a drink for 2 dollars. I think I ate between 6 or 8 frankfurters. Been a long time since I ate at Katzs delicatessen as well. As for pizza I ate ray's famous or famous Ray's and for a bagel and cream cheese I would get this from any of the vendors on the street with a giant donut and a hot tea.

my only pet peeve about bagels is that since they are so dense whenever you take a bite all the cream cheese falls through the sides.

my top 5 foods when I visit NYC are Pizza from Petes Pizza and burger joint a nice bagel with just cream cheese and jelly magnolia's for a piece of apple pie shake shack because we do not have one where I live, and ahhhhhhhhhh a nice restaurant with a good beef fillet dish somewhere near central park 67 street

This is one of the things that I miss the most about New York City. Are there bagels. I have not found any place that rivals the New York bagel. Now in Florida I’m on a search.
