In this tutorial video we show you just how quick and easy it is to install the GC Jetski Fishing 34 amp hour battery upgrade kit onto your Seadoo Fish Pro. The stock dual battery system is a poor design with each battery located in different parts of the ski requiring extra wiring and fuses which can also lead to failures. The upgraded single battery option from GC Jetski Fishing requires no extra wiring or modifications to your ski and will give you almost the same amount of battery capacity as a dual system, without any of the headaches!

Thanks Glen. I'd been annoyed at my 2022 Seadoo FishPro fish-finder cutting out after 20 minutes of drift fishing, and this bigger battery has solved that. The install went well especially given I'm not the best at this type of stuff. Moving a tube to get the original battery strap off was necessary, and I had to cut a cable tie to get another larger tube out of the way for sliding in the battery. Finding the clip for unhooking the starter relay was a bit tricky. I used a sharpened iki spike to get the pilot holes for the screws and the screws went in no trouble at all. With a coffee break and fashioning a notch in an old screwdriver with an angle grinder, it was all done in under two hours. People who are good at this stuff would breeze through the install much faster. In a few years time when it comes time to replace the battery, I suspect getting the heavy battery out, past the cables might be tricky and I'll need a friend to help hold stuff out of the way. Thanks again Glen. Now back to the fishing...

Great upgrade Glen. I struggled with the new battery strap, but modified a pry bar like you did your screw driver and this made it a breeze. Waiting for your trolling rod holders to come back into stock

Would it fit in my Seadoo Wake Pro 230 from 2020? I would also like to install a Lipo battery. Are there any problems or does it work without problems?

Yes it will work on the wake pro. I prefer AGM batteries as lithiums are not suited to the charging system on a ski

Can you run the bigger battery on front of the trophy and keep the original in the rear or do you have to have the same battery for both

It can be done but it's generally good practice to keep both batteries the same size and age etc in a parallel setup

A quick Google search of the part number MBTX30U should give you some options in your country. They are commonly found in motobike stores

Im just concerned they might not fit. I have two skis a 2021 230 GTR and 2020 130 GTI the batteries on both are placed differently

I'm not 100% sure but I think the GTR and the GTR are both different to the fish pro & GTX so this kit will not work unfortunately

They have just recently released an upgrade to the mbtx30u battery so as long as you are getting new stock it should be the upgraded version. Some places may still be selling old stock however

No problems with heat yet, it is close to the engine but as long as there is an air gap I think it will be absolutely fine

Hi Glen, do you sell the kit for the battery upgrade ? I have a 24 fish pro trophy and would like to upgrade the battery. I also had sea doo install a bilge pump; unbeknownst to me, the factory bilge runs when the battery is on all the time. I think it's going to draw too much electricity. Hopefully your 34 Amp battery will help..Thank you Dave.

@@GCJetskiFishing Hey, Thank you much. I called Mottobatt, but I didn't get through. I went to Mottobatt and sight-saw the Batt. I ordered the Same through Amazon here at 32 AMPs. It's the same as on MotoBatt. Your tray is coming. Everything is good. Next is to hook up a tow valve. I will be offshore fishing here, though the ski is new, and I'll get a sea tow policy. There's no need to mess around offshore. What's important is the tow valve. Thanks again, Dave.

The 32 amp will work as it is the same dimensions and same part number but you must be finding old stock, as any new stock should be the newer version 34a/h

Would you recommend a larger capacity single battery in Lithium?

Definitely not... Lithiums require a specific type of battery charger, the stator charging system on the ski engine is not suitable for lithium

@@GCJetskiFishing Asking because it seems most jet ski's charging systems barely take care of a single battery anyway. I would always charge between uses regardless of battery type with the appropriate charger. A ski's charging system evidently does not harm a lithium battery as they have been used for over a decade. Looking to bullet proof my offshore Yamaha with a single battery solution and I will be carrying a lithium boost jumper for emergencies.

@@rickss69 A single large AGM for your ski battery and separate lithium jump starter would be my recommendation for reliability. The problem with lithium occurs when and if the battery ever drains significantly then it will try and demand a higher voltage from the ski's charging system to recharge the battery, but this higher voltage can very easily upset the lithium battery and cause a fire. As lithium technology progresses it will become less of an issue but it's personally just not a risk I would take on any watercraft when there is proven suitable alternatives already available. I used to work in motorsport and saw many lithium batteries puff up and sometimes catch fire due to not liking the charging voltage from the alternator. In a car it's a risk you can take, on a boat is a whole different story.

@@GCJetskiFishing I completely understand that fear and the reasoning from past experiences. Were these particular problems before the BMS technology used by top tier lithium batteries nowadays? Btw, my only constant draw will be from the installed 9" graph which would likely see a maximum time frame of 8 hours continuous use. Thanks again.

@@GCJetskiFishingWow, thanks for the fast response! This will be for a 24 RXT-X 325. It has the OEM Haijiu HTX20L-FA 18Ah with 1-3/8" (roughly 35 mm) between the battery wall and the motor. Guessing it's same as the 300 setup from 23 but wanted to run by you first. Do you think it would work for my needs?

Yes it would work for your ski. I always recommend not using Lithium batteries connected to the ski's charging system. They require specific charging amps and voltages that the ski just doesn't account for
