I bought this laptop 3 months ago. Its the best laptop for students indeed, it handles vr game development like a beast. The laptop is light enough to be carried in a laptop bag on my moped for 35minutes without hurting. My peak performance is neos VR at 144fps in a local lobby.

Used this for around 6 months as a college student. I have no complaints Gives me an average of around 100 fps for cyberpunk on medium settings . The battery lasts around 3ish hours while not gaming.

@@Emory_OrginalG_Tate basically, the more power (watts) a gpu can get = more performance. 45w is not the greatest. you're generally going to want something at the very least 60w.

@@Emory_OrginalG_TateAll you need to know is higer tgp (total graphics power) is better. Some rtx 4060 laptops provide 140W tgp (like alienware or asus). Difference between 45w 4060 and 140w 4060 is almost a 20% decrease in graphics performance. It can be said that rtx 4060 with 45w tgp is almost equal to rtx 4050 with 140w tgp

I am using MSI GF63 (older gen). Really disappointed with the build quality and reliability of this laptop. Faced hinge issue and got it fixed with warranty. And the battery spoiled within a year of usage. Very disappointed with MSI

I was also considering an MSI gaming laptop since it's a bit cheaper but I heard the build quality is real bad. Looks like I'm gonna be choosing somewhere else, maybe a Legion or ROG.

I am using rog zephyrus 2023 and its great, lightweight, big performance, nice touchpad, 4.30h battery life (youtoube), but it can get really hot, like around 91°C cpu and gpu temperature. Yeah it can burn you

Found sale with a 12th gen i7 2.3ghz 32GB DDR4 1TB PCIE SSD nVidia RTX 4060 for $849. Think that's as good as it gets. My only question is will that PCIe SSD be waaaaay worse than a NVME? Seems like it could be a bottleneck for the rest of the system?

PCI-e ssd is literally NVME. SATA SSD is not.

this particular GF63 is cheap, has a low-built quality, and has under-performance CPU and GPU due to having only one fan. If you're only into light, casual gaming then it will serve you right, otherwise, it's just a waste of money, I'd rather wait for a couple of more months to save up and buy a Legion with the better overall quality and having a better experience

Went with the Cyborg 15 a12vf over this one. Felt better Build quality wise. Got the i712650h / 4060 45w 8gb vram / 4tb m.2 / 16gbram. GF Series is Prone to Hinge breaks, Mine hasnt had any issues so far. I guess take care haha

I got the i5 12450h with 4060 msi gf63 and it’s good.starfield 60-70 fps with the dlss mod.I though 45w would be a problem but most games don’t even go above 35 besides 3d mark

For gaming laptops heavy often means good.. heavy means lots of cooling pipes and aluminium construction as opposed to flimsy plastic construction. If you're getting a 4060 it's a waste with 1080p better find a 1440p 4060, it handles most new games on ultra at high double digit FPS. MSI pulse is best if can stretch unless you're on a really tight budget

@@Emory_OrginalG_Tate totally you can. the only limitation is the integrated LCD panel is limited to 1080p resolution. If you want higher resolution you have to attach an external monitor that supports higher resolution. But the built in panel is quite nice and has a high refresh rate but it cannot support higher resolutions.

For those watching this, please don't get the MSI GF, GL or any of their cheap budget series, The build quality is so bad, there's a class action lawsuit in the work by M&R (The same people that won a case against ASUS's battery issue) Anyone in the gaming laptop community will tell you to stay away from these horrible laptops, these laptops are not worth your money

Dell G15 better in my opinion. Find it less than $1K and easy to upgrade RAM and SSD inside. It doesn't have soldered RAM and extra SSD slot.

Bruh, this same msi gf build quality easily breaks, has the same laptop with different specs, had to get a replacement unit twice for lcd issues. After a year, hinge just broke down. Mind you that I am super careful in handling my tech. Overheats a lot also. Also MSI did not even extended their driver and software support on the gf63. Also, the battery got replaced twice due to swollen. I hope you also consider built quality for a “Best Budget”. Or at least research.

I hate it. I just bought it for 990 Came preloaded with windows 11. Haven’t gamed on it singe it’s not what I’m intending to do with it. But for the price I’m stuck with it. Feels really cheap and I just overall don’t like MSI. But I bought it and I’m praying it will last me until I finish my studies. I just set it up, downloaded chrome and shut it off. That’s it.
