If you struggle to keep track of spending or have multiple current accounts, then there are apps that could really help you take control of your finances.
Find out what I like and don't like about UK budgeting and money management apps, and which ones I rate in my top 4 worth downloading and giving a try.

I think the difference in price between the mobile and desktop is the extra charge the online store charges

Thanks a lot for putting this together. I still miss Microsoft Money which bizarrely they stopped producing. Never found a better personal finance tracking product.

Same here, I just haven't found anything that gives me the same reoccurring transaction options yet. The cashflow graph and reporting options were also great. What did you settle with?

Hi with The Plum App How Long Do You Suggest Save Money In The pocket Before Transferring It Back To Your Current Account The amount you have saved in the pocket before u get charged any interest as I wanna save as much money as I can each time in the pocket Thanks conna

The price on the subscription is sometimes lower if you do it on desktop because app stores take their cut on mobile if you do the payment on mobile. KZfaq Red is cheaper if you sign up on desktop despite teh accout acarrying over to mobile.

Some of these apps might sell your data, or have affiliates where they can get paid if you sign up , so it makes me feel a bit uncomfortable to trust a company to have access to all of my spending data . I think I’m gunna just do it the old fashioned way with a notepad

Big fan of money dashboard, I like you can add offline accounts so you could track Marcus savings for example manually whereas many which don't support Marcus would just be not possible to even have it on the list.

how do i track my savings ? how would I put in Matt car and also Bedroom refurbishment etc ? surely the app should be able to do that and then tell me how long until I reach my goal etc etc etc ?

Just re watched this. Looked at the apps and two of my banks still cannot add: COOP and Chase. I did use Emma previously but found it was a day or two behind what I could see myself on the banking apps.

Are they apps that don't need credit cards or bank accounts, I don't give apps access to my account, I don't trust 3rd party stuff. I would bet every app sells the data to any company's they want them.

hey andy , if i want to use the switching offers, does it have to switch from my main bank account? or can i open an account with a random bank and switch from there?

Random banks are fine, you may need to have direct debits set up though on the random account, check the deal
