Gen 5 Ancestral red is easily one of my top favorites among all red blends. Sandpoint Merlot is excellent and it's only $11. It tastes like a $50 bottle of wine. My favorite is Katherine Goldschmidt 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep red wine. Sweetness is subtle and barely there. Price isn't important. It's the quality of the grapes and your taste preference. Try as many as you can and find your favorites.

Bogle petite sirah is not a sweet red.. It may not be as dry as some would want but it is certainly not in the 'sweet red' category.. In fact,I remember it being quite dry,although jammy,like other California reds..

There's something I'm not getting...a video posted in 2022 about wines with vintages as old as 2009? If someone wanted to try these, how could they possibly get a hold of them?

That's not that crazy. Some fortified vines go all the way to 50+ years. Champagne best vintage is still 2004-2008, which is still on sale today. A lot of bourdeaux will be super old, as well.

@xSintex Perhaps, but the theme of this video is CHEAP red wines. Taking a quick look at my on-hand stock, all in the roughly ten dollar range, nothing is older than 2020 (as I'm writing it's early 2024). So I'm guessing this is an old video that was just recently posted...if you wanted to buy, say, the 2014 Bogle Petite Syrah you'd be out of luck...I was just in Total Wine and they were sold out of the 2020...probably because the 2021 is about to come out.

@@xSintex that's true but most wines are designed to be consumed young. I like bogle wines but they are inexpensive wines and are most definitely not made to be aged.. If you cellar 2 wines,both cab sauv's,one cheap and one not,the cheap one will probably not survive,depending on the aging time.. My point it,a bogle petite syrah or cab sauv may well be ok after such a time but you should not wait that amount of time to consume it regardless..
