In terms of the BEST Chicken Coop in the world, there can be only one and we think we've found it-- the Egg Cart'n Chalet from www.eggcartn.com
Our current chicken coop is a mess. After just a few years the egg door is failing, the paint is all peeling and the floor has rotted out twice and it is a NIGHTMARE to clean out. I think many people overlook the amount of time it will take to clean your coop. It's a huge ongoing chore but doesn't have to be so difficult. For theses reasons we decided to go with a better solution.
We got an Egg Cart'n Chalet from eggcartn.com/ and in this video we unbox, assemble and test it out and show why we think this is the best Chicken Coop Tractor in the World. Enjoy the setup process from watching a bunch of parts transform into a beautiful and highly functional end product. Then we will test it out and showcase the reasons why it is a superior coop.

I forgot i was watching anything to do with chicken coops. I was looking at them. But what I saw in this was a good family. More importantly, a father being acting and teaching in the home. This is so rare. I can't tell you how much I wish i had a dad.

I love this design. I made mine out of wood(all propel housing material) so it's a bit heavy but that works for me. As for the lift kit I just use a hand trolley.

wow love the look and it seemed pretty easy to put together but it looked very lite (I know ease of moving) but if you get a good wind I can see it flying. maybe move it to the garage during a wind storm?

Thanks for watching. It is actually fairly heavy but I think the EZ lift system used and the assist ram makes it look liter than it is. The way its designed the leverage from the long handle and the ram make the lift easier- if I had to dead lift the unit without that I don't think I could. Also with the walls all being open fencing- the wind can go right through. But good point and we will keep a close eye on it. Thanks.

Yes- our chicks have been in it for a few weeks. We love it so far! Easy clean up. We moved it over our garden- spray cleaned the floor with a hose and "recycled" the waste into the garden. Also- we are already seeing the positive affects on our grass as we move the tractor often. Honestly not a con to report- its all been positive.

I had no fly problem, I assume because it's so open air. Above someone mentioned 20 chickens - I hope not!. 7-9 chickens based on square footage needed per chicken if you plan to keep them in it 24/7.

Can you share more details about your failed previous coop floors? I’m researching durability. Were both failed floors linoleum over plywood? OSB? Sheet linoleum or squares? How did they fail so quickly? Thanks!
@Homesteadhow
@Homesteadhow 4 жыл бұрын
linoleum over OSB. Part of the issue (I think) is that I used the linoleum squares which are like 10in x10in. I think water/waste was able to get in between the small gaps betweens those scquares-- where as a solid single peice of linoleum probbaly would have worked better. also I would use water/marine grade plywood instead

@@Mama_bird_to_all Plastic doesn't breath, so it holds lots of moisture. Add to that the fact that it is non insulated plastic and you have a recipe for major condensation caused by the warmth of the birds inside and the cold air outside. The walls will be wet in cold weather, the worst time!
