Put some Vaseline around the stalk of dahlia underneath young bud and that will stop earwigs and caterpillars munching on the flower. I’ve tried it and it works wonderfully. x

Amazing, I want them all and have Arabian Nights from these plants. All dahlias survived in my basement. Crazy Love is my favorite and I adore the cactus varieties.

I think your choices will make a stunning display. I planted dahlias 2 yrs, left them in the ground and lost some, but not half. Last yr the ones that came back did not look as nice as the yr before, the plants were smaller with fewer blooms, which were smaller as well. Lifted them for this season, I see new growth on some. My favorite is the dinner plant Avalanche, solid white. And it was actually bigger than my head, I took a photo holding it in front of my face. Love your thrifted art behind you, it looks lovely.

Your choice of dahias , gorgeous. Your garden is going to look stunning as usual. I'll be trying for the first time this year. I have just bought 2 packets of mixed dahlias . As a new gardener , okay for me at this moment. My favourites are cafe au lait and wizard of oz. I hope that is the correct name.😀 Enjoy your new garden in France .🌸🌺🌼🌻

SO many people found their stored dahlias had rotted during the Winter, including me. Apparently it was the result of the wet Autumn meaning many tubers didn't dry out properly prior to storage. And the dreadful cold snaps we had did them in completely. 😪 Hey ho, a chance to buy new varieties. 😁
