Hello Landy Fans - today I will show you how I did a 2" body lift on our Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5. I struggled to find information exactly how to do it on a D2, and there are several ways to do it depending on how much time and money you have. This way is the easiest and cheapest way to do this mod.
It is not perfect or show quality but it does the job well.
This is just a guide for fun. I am a qualified mechanic, so please get your vehicle checked by a qualified mechanic if you attempt this yourself.

Great video mate! Ive just done mine following your video! Mine is an auto so no messing around with the gears… one thing to mention, the flexi brake pipes in the front left wheel arch, be careful they arent being stretched. Looking forward to more disco 2 content!
@AutumnCars
@AutumnCars Жыл бұрын
That's amazing to hear! Ahh yes I failed to mention all my brake lines are +2" braided ones and have already been unclipped from the body sorry! I assume that most people that attempt this are somewhat mechanically minded and can sort small issues like that. I'll mention "and other things" in videos moving forward thanks :) Disco 2 and Defender content coming soon, lots filmed :)

@Autumn Cars thats alright I noticed it after I had done it and wondered how much I must have stretched it then separating the vodka to insert the blocks! Seems to be okay though! Will definitely be keeping my eye out for more vids

@@alexbeggy2007 hi mate, no, just loosen the selector cable on the gearbox end on the XYZ switch. This will allow the cable to slide out slightly.

That sound is power steering fluid. I think it might need a top-up and jack up front and turn the steering wheel to get air out. I get the same noise in my disco from a small leak

Good job. Does anyone know how high the rear of the body can be lifted without disconnecting everything in the engine bay? I need to do some welding on the chassis behind the rear wheel, and would be handy to have as much clearance as possible. It's a lot of work removing the body totally.

It's in the video dude, just a quick clip of it tho. Loosen off the UJ in the engine bay before lifting the body and then tighten again once it's all done. Mine developed a mystery squeak from just behind the steering wheel afterwards, which I still haven't worked out🤦‍♂️

Not really, what about tyre clearance etc
@AutumnCars
@AutumnCars Жыл бұрын
I see your point, however I needed more tyre clearance cheaply (sub £100) and not compromise on-road stability and geometry. Lifting on the suspension more than the 2" it already was would require more than only springs/shocks/blocks to drive well :)
