Consistency in golf starts with a better understanding of what the club is designed to do AND how you need to help it during the golf swing.
MyGolfDNA instructor Chris Tyler will show you a drill to lay down the foundation for success when it comes to playing golf. You can work on this from the comforts of your own home at first and then start hitting balls immediately.

After watching hundreds of instructional videos , reading almost every golf book and trying many training aids have finally found a coach who, in my opinion, is the best at giving detailed instruction that makes sense. You make it clear on what to do, why it needs to be done and how to go about incorporating it in the golf swing. Thank you so much!!!

Chris, this looks like a really nice drill to do. I’ll give it a try for a few weeks, making sure I do it correctly and methodically for about a 1, 000 reps. Cheers.

This is just the baseline movement to the drill. The next video, we are adding in a ton so building the trust from the slot down will make the whole next step a lot easier to bring together. Let me know how things go and good luck.

I love this instruction. You don't BS people by telling them "this one magic move will cure all your problems." Correct repetition is the key. And I have never been disciplined enough to "get with the program." I'm starting this year. Thank you for these videos. P.S. I reached a green from 200 yds out the other day applying your principles. Ain't never happened for me before!!

Subbed. Just what I have spent the last 10 years looking for on KZfaq. Concise instructions in an easy way to understand. I will be trying this over the coming weeks across the winter season in the UK, getting ready for the new season. It’s a shame you are based in the USA, are you on Skillest?

Hello Chris, I feel very lucky to have discovered your instruction videos. After all these years i have never met a pro (in real or KZfaq) who explains so well the why and give clear advice and drills in order to improve. I stopped watching other tuition videos as, for the best, they try to explain in a confuse way what you explained in a comprehensive way. My only question is: do I go to step 3 after having done the 1000 reps of step step 1 and 2 ( I do them as 1 rep). Do I then do step 3 another 1000 times on his own or do I integrate 1 and 2? Thank you for your reply.

Happy to have you on the channel. After you complete the first 1000 reps. You’ll want to revisit that drill to start out with for subsequent practice sessions. Then stack in step 3 on its own and back check it for quality. If the quality is out of place on any of the movements, go back to steps 1 and 2 and then work back to step 3 in each session. You’ll be able to stay on step 3 for most of the sessions as you become better and better at the reps. Hope that helps.

I love that you continue to hit up the delivery area with different approaches. One of these will get me to stop flipping eventually. I can hit nice low piercing shots starting from club parallel (they actually go a long way!) but once I go to a full backswing I'm just not sure how to get back to that delivery position properly. I'll work on this one. Quick question: Sometimes I think I do this properly when I'm practicing, and then when I setup the camera I swing differently and flip. If I am at a Trackman bay, are there any numbers that could tell me if I am getting the proper amount of shaft lean? My Mizuno MX-25 7 iron is supposed to have 34 degrees of loft. Can I look at dynamic loft or launch angle on a solid strike to tell if I am flipping?

There is something comforting to the subconscious about the 9:00 swing that makes it all work much easier. The minute we even think about turning it up a notch is when it all comes unglued. The shortened swing takes some of the stress off the distance that you’re looking for, allows you to move much more freely in sequence and always shows better stuff down through the hitting area. If only we could teach ourselves that we can hit a 5 iron 195 yards on a swing that feels like 80%. It’s amazing how much we speed the arms up in sequence the second we go past 9:00! Stay tuned on this!!! Next time you’re on trackman, look at path, face to path, AOA, dynamic loft and spin loft and post those numbers up or send the entire report directly to me via email (in description) and ill help you understand which order you should be looking at the data specifically. If I just said go watch dynamic loft, but didn’t get a better understanding of how the club was working its way through the low point, then I’d be doing you a terrible disservice. Path, AoA, how you’re squaring the face, grip strength etc can play a significant role what current vs. end result should look like on camera.

So that position at parallel is right before you would "fold" the club towards the ball and into impact? We always assume pros "pull" the club down.....I always believed it was a product of camera angles and "position" coaching. The reality appears to be that the club has a folding point and runs into the ball if done correctly....not a lot of body movement needed once momentum has taken it towards the targe. You thoughts?
