My first machine was Brother with smallest hoop 4x4". I upgraded to Ricoma 15 needle one, works like a dream. P.s. I am from Europe and my Ricoma 15 needle is the same price as the Brother 6 needle one, I definitely chose Ricoma, as it is industrial machine and hoop size included is 22x14" and you can bay even larger frame if needed. Definitely recomend Ricoma 🙂

Great vid! I’ve been researching multi needle machines for awhile and this has been very helpful. Can you tell us in your next video how often you have your machines serviced, how you get your machines there to be serviced, and how much that typically costs you? These are some of the biggest concerns I have about getting a multi needle machine. I currently have a Brother Innovis 1250, which I LOVE, but I need to do bigger projects than a 5x7 hoop will allow. I typically have my machine serviced at least once a year and its costs me roughly $100. So being able to budget for these cost would help immensely. Thanks for all you share with us!

I started with brother PE780D, had it for 8 years before my husband let me get Persona by brother. I wanted the Persona to do hats. The machine came with the hat frame. I had to get the Durkee fast frames, which have been great. It only has one needle and holds only 4 different colors of thread on top at once. I kept getting tired to changing thread. So after two years, my husband called dealer and they were willing to give us a deal on a baby lock and the stand free. I wanted to stay with brother, but he was giving us discount and a free stand. It also has the same PES designs. I find them easy to get a hold of if I have questions or anything. They are very helpful. Oh and this baby lock machine has 10 needles. And a bigger hoop. I do want to look into magnetic hoop and snap hoops for it. I thought my fast frames would work on it,but they don’t.

I started with a PE 400 years ago & moved up to Innovis 1250D..I lucked up on a barely used PE 1000e 10 needle..I gave my 400 to my aunt but kept Innovis since it sews also. I’m thinking I may invest in a mighty hoop but saving up for a hat hoop for PE 1000e. Your video have inspired me to get back to creating, been distracted by life & grandchildren.

I get a price from my dealer and then I drive to another dealer and get a price from them. Also go to the State Fair if Texas or your local states and they have a event that shows new machines and there r sewing store (s) that sell baby lock, brother that will be a showing newest ones of brother, babylock embroidery machines. They even do demo to watch. Go to several sewing or embroidery stores ask questions , check out all machines out now. Not sure when brothers big sale is might be in September. Biggest sales on babylock brand machines is in October. Learn all you can now till October from facebook groups, you tube, sewing stores. Many have embroidery club to join. Several do not charge a fee to go to them. Angela your doing great! I use to have your energy but that was so long ago. I’m never to old to learn something new. God blessed I & ya family.

You seem to be the only one I’ve seen on KZfaq who really knows what your doing. I want to start my own embroidery business starting off small and hats first. What advice do u have for me? And what kind of embroidery machine do u use for the hats? Also where do u order your blanks from?

I have a Babylock sewing machine and the Brother PE800 (thank you QVC!) and love both machines. However, for the past two months, after watching your videos and Eve from the Baby's Booty and EXTENSIVE research, I opted for the Ricoma EM1010 (delivery tomorrow)! While the Brother and Babylock are made in the US, as you said, you have to purchase through a dealer so you are not only paying for the name, but for the multiple "middle men" it has to go through. Also, they do not include the stand or cap driver and they have a much shorter warranty. In other words, though a Chinese machine, the Ricoma I got is half the price, has four more needles, includes stand, cap driver, cap hoop and station, has 24/7 support and a 25-year warranty. Now I am not trying to sell the Ricoma, I am suggesting anyone in the market for a machine should do their research (watching videos on the different machines is a good start) and make a checklist on what features best fits your needs and go from there. Gladys The top three I was considering seriously was Brother, Babylock and Ricoma. I briefly considered Redline. The "selling" feature for me on the Ricoma EM1010 is one where, with the push of a button, the hoop slides out to enable easy placement of fabric, etc for appliqué and then slides back in. I would suggest figuring out what you want to do with the machine, how many needles you want/need, etc. I am planning on doing apparel of all ages, including caps, and when I contacted my local Brother dealer, I found it quite off-putting when he made it sound like no big deal to pay an extra $2500 (the price he quoted me) for a stand and cap driver and when I asked if it at least came with a starter kit, i.e., thread, stabilizer, he replied "no, but I sell everything you will need" in my store. At that point, besides favoring the above-mentioned Ricoma feature, it was a matter of principle and my decision was made. I hope this helps and good luck!

Hi Kimberly. How much did the Ricoma EM1010 cost and where did you buy it from? Also, how has it been working? Does it stitch well? Any problems? Sorry for all of the questions, but I'm researching different embroidery machines. I have a Brother SE600 and NQ1600E. My little SE600 works without any problems. However, my NQ1600E has given me nothing but problems since less than 2 months of buying it new in January of 2019. We finally convinced them to replace my machine with a new one. I'm thinking of selling the new one and buying a multi needle instead. Thanks.

Good presentation! You should talk to Eve of the TheBabysBooty. She knows the people at Ricoma. She recently purchased a 15 needle Redline industrial machine. She did a live video about it on YT. I think she said that she paid about $7000 for it. Take a look at the vid when you have time. By the way your hair looks beautiful! I am now available to test out designs for yu.

Interesting. I'm considering dabbling into embroidery. I have a vinyl heat transfer/plastisol transfer business now. I do alot of family reunion t-shirts, and t-shirt orders for my job. I developed a business model for my job, that I think could work. Buying an embroidery machine will allow me to create samples for presentation to my company, and when the big orders come through, send it out to my contract printer for mass production instead of taking on the labor myself. After a while, if your business keeps growing, you should consider the same. Good luck!

I took a class when I bought my machine. The instructor said that you should change your needles after 8 hours of sewing. I've heard others say that certain problems that crop up while sewing can sometimes be attributed to dull needles. I can't remember which problems specifically, at the moment, but at the time I remember thinking that it wasn't necessarily something I would have thought to be needle-related if I'd encountered it.

I have a babylock enterprise 10 needle. I rarely use it and thinking about getting it serviced and selling it. I’ve had it since 2015 and unfortunately my work doesn’t look as good as yours. If I decide to keep, I’m thinking of getting the magnetic hoops. You do fantastic work

I have the PE770, The baby Lock Machine looks easy to use. But, a little intimidating at the same time. Lol, This video was very informative! Thank you 😊
