I was soo very lucky to have my dad walk me down the aisle a second time. He was 82 at the time and tired easily. Didn't stop him though as he made up his mind to walk me down the aisle regardless. Got to the front of the aisle and he whispered to my future hubby, "I walked her up the aisle..but just know she'lll always be my little girl."

When I got married coming up on 32 years ago, I wish my dad had reacted like some of these father's. I did get a reaction, just not the one I was hoping for. He gave what he could at the time. He has since passed. I still don't care for the veil on the back of the head, not my thing.

That is so beautiful. This is so foreign to me who I grew up without my father bothering to even send me a birthday card until I was 50. I had 4 Daughters who also grew up without a father or a stepfather because I refuse to bring a man into my household with four daughters. For so many years I honestly thought men didn't even have feelings for their female children. Only found out in later life with cable and KZfaq and watching other father daughters. Totally clueless that this was even a reality. I'm 65

as somebody who has been working on repairing my relationship with my father, I've learned that everybody's experience is different. I would've loved to have my dad physically present for my whole life but I know that when I have kids, they will experience both their mother and father together. Congratulations on raising your 4 daughters solo!

Fourth, all this was done “according to the Scriptures”; the theme of the whole Bible is the salvation of mankind through Christ. The Bible is the gospel.

This is very very wrong, she's not marrying her Dad. Everyone gets a first look when the Bride walks down the aisle.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. This might not be something for you but for many, they enjoy spending a moment with their dad's/daughter's before everybody else. Neither option is wrong.

The brides probably also got a first look with their grooms at another point. It might not be something for you to enjoy, but it is for many others. They enjoy spending a little daddy/daughter time before everyone else. Just because you think it’s wrong doesn’t mean it is.

There's nothing wrong with this. If he walks her down the aisle, he's going to see her before the wedding, genius. I'm 100% certain you are not a parent.

I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other. I think humans should just ditch concepts like dating, marriage, and pair bonding. I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it. There's a lot of dangers and risks to romantic relationships, so they should be avoided. The concept of romance should be removed from this world. Most parents hate the idea of their daughter dating and getting married someday and want them to be single for their whole life because of how dangerous romantic relationships are, while most of the time, they're ok with their daughter having platonic friends. That's because romantic relationships are far more dangerous than platonic relationships are. Most parents (both fathers and mothers) who have daughters are hoping their daughter never dates or get married and remain single for their whole life because it's much safer to be single than it is to be in a romantic relationship.
