Article is available here: www.flutesloot.com/best-warlock-feats-dnd-5e/ Honorable mention to Dao Genie Warlock using Crusher to combo with the bludgeoning damage the subclass adds to Eldritch Blast. Lucky and Alert are also solid feats. Inspiring Leader is great if you don't already have temporary hitpoints generated regularly by your adventuring party.

I really like Spell Sniper if I'm going for an Eldritch Blast-focused warlock, at least if you have a DM that takes advantage of cover frequently. The Eldritch Spear invocation can cover any range you might need, though I actually find that I prefer to spend the invocations on other things, but negating the effects of cover can be a big deal. Plus, it's just a fun image to snipe from half a block away through a keyhole with a laser beam.

THANK YOU for *warlock* content about *warlocks*. most of the time on reddit or when i search for good ideas, 85% of it assumes multiclassing and/or hexblade. a lot of the reddit stuff also becomes [me being many levels in] "use this subrace and clearly you must have high dex right?" great video, love the channel

@Flutes Loot while you're engaging, before i watch the patron video, I'll humbly say my only warlock advice i don't ever hear: I highly recommend thinking of the top few qualities or basic backstory as you need in your patron, and then inviting the dm to create as much of the character as possible, to have as much ownership as possible. I haven't met my current patron yet, and the excitement from dm and player is palpable.

I'm surprised you did not mention Crusher on a DaoGenieLock when talking about subclass specific feats, as well as alert, lucky or inspiring leader. And for racial feats Wood Elf Magic to get guidance and PwT is pretty nice.
@FlutesLoot
@FlutesLoot 2 жыл бұрын
I skimmed the Dao option for the Genie Warlock a moment ago, but I'm not seeing the synergy with Crusher. Can you explain? I seem to have missed it. You're right about Alert and Lucky as they're always fine choices, and Inspiring Leader can be good for any Charisma-based character whose party doesn't have many ways to gain temporary hitpoints. I think, however, that Inspiring Leader has become less valuable in recent years as more subclasses have features that grant temporary hitpoints. It's still a fine feat, but I think it's a victim of inflation somewhat :P

@@FlutesLoot Genie's Wrath makes EB do an extra PB worth of bludgeoning damage so it can trigger crusher on a ranged attack and stack with repelling blast, this is good to just knock people back 15ft or to crusher knock them up 5ft and then up diagonally 10 ft away from you thus putting them 10 ft up in the air and they will take a d6 and land prone. As for IL I 100% agree you should not take it if you have a twilight, shepherd, glamor, or artillerist in your party, otherwise its a nice option to hand out temp HP to the party and since it recharges on a SR it gives the party a stronger motivation to SR, in a sense its kind of a warlock psy-op lol.

Im playing a Hexblade for a long one shot and my weapon is a custom weapon that’s a nail sword( just a reflavored long sword that does piercing) and the piercer feat was very good addition to my build. Hexing and enemy and getting a crit and using eldritch smite and the piercer feat just is so fun

Agreed that warlock lends itself to be a popular multiclassing dip in a variety of builds which influences the feats that pair with them well. here's my own top 10 list that i took with my own builds which had warlocks: 1. fey/shadowtouched- great way to round out an odd cha. any feat really that gives a warlock more slots to play with is a god-send. 2. flames of phlegethos- one of the pieces for those armor of agathys revenger builds. rounds out an odd cha too! 3. dragon fear- one of my fave feats in the game as it gives you a non-concen, non-spell way to control. rounds out an odd cha too! 4. telekinetic- allows you to push the forced movement stuff of EB further especially when using in conjunction with spike growth. rounds out an odd cha too! 5. elven accuracy- used on hexblade crit-fisher builds. rounds out an odd cha too! * honorable mentions. eldritch adept- useful to speed up invocation acquisitions. crusher, piercer/gunner, sentinel, sharpshooter are all useful in gish builds involving warlocks.

@@FlutesLoot i hope so as i dont see any conflict with what they released so far. Only thing i see them doing is assigning levels to those feats sadly. I do hope as well they re-think the whole feat levelling thing. I dont mind if they want to limit background feat choices to weaker feats but imo humans/custom lineage feats should be from any of the feats as this essentially their racial trait. The race is bare bones without the feat. No one's going to pick them anymore if they just get trash feats.

Would you mind making a video about interesting warlock multiclass options that do not involve the Hexblade? I'm specifically referring to a multiclass with at least the subclass of another class. For example, if you're adding fighter then you need at least 3 levels of it. This is for the purpose of thinking of interesting ideas for both rp and mechanics.
@FlutesLoot

great vids! one thing that confuses me is when the invocations say casting time is At Will. Even when a spell would have a normal casting time of 1 action, like armor of shadows or Fiendish Vigor, why cannot I cast as many of these spells that are At Will as I want per turn ?
@FlutesLoot
@FlutesLoot 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! "At Will" in 5e doesn't negate the casting time that the spell requires. It suggests that you can cast the spell without a spell slot. I know this doesn't totally match the definition of "at will" in real-world terms, but it's the language of 5e's rules.
@Kramer649
@Kramer649 2 жыл бұрын
@@FlutesLoot I agree that the language is way off, they should just say cast as a cantrip. Then we'd all understand right?
@FlutesLoot

@@Kramer649 it needs to remain as a leveled spell, so I wish they had created a word like slotless, or maybe something more elegant like effortless, idk. It's common for games to create a term that is always understood to do a thing, like advantage and disadvantage.
