I've always heard that it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the ceremony.

That's the tradition, but I read on another video's comments that some couples prefer to meet before the ceremony to calm their nerves. I think it's best if the bride stands ten feet away from the groom before he turns around, so he can get the full effect. If you're going to do that. Which I'd be too superstitious to do.

This actually comes from an old practice where the bride wasn’t allowed to see the groom and vice versa because when marriages were arranged it was feared they wouldn’t like each other and would try to break it off... not sure if I’m making sense
