Just as an FYI: if there is just 1 person playing they dont need a lot of server power for that. They dont need to sync stuff between people etc. so single person lobbies dont hurt them as much as you think

I have no idea how Riot servers are setup, but if each game instance reserves a specific amount of memory designed for 5 people but only one is playing. It's still as if 5 are playing therefor a lot of that memory goes to waste, no other server can use it because it has to be reserved. and if 5 people play solo instead of together it's the same as if 25 people were playing at once.. But then again. I have no idea how they are setup so handling could be different.

It's not that, he already got a skin this year. Dragonmancer + prestige. My only issue is that dragonmancer was done to "catch up" the both of them, and now Xayah has another skin without him. This might become a cycle in which rakan's duo skin releases 2 years after Xayah's one and vice versa. Yeah I'm not a fan of it either :c @@surrealllama

They just killed their narrative, and because they aren't mega popular, riot doesn't care

That would be a stretch, like if we count heavenscam lee as a separate legendary, he will be in line with her. 3 of sera's "legendaries", which are actually legendary in quality, are bundled up in a definitive skin. So it doesn't really work in the way you would like to.

Fun Fact but Enfo, from WC3 "Enfo's Team Survival" fame, applied to Riot like 10 years ago and pitched all these mode ideas. Riot didn't hire him saying modes wouldn't work or be popular. How very, very wrong they were. I can only imagine what might have been if they embraced his pitch back in the day and actuality followed through with it.

I mean, you are right that holocure can make characters feel more unique than other VS-like games, but they too have only a different weapon with like 3 unique passives per character. It does seem like swarm is at least close to that while being 3d with leagues graphics. And these events with unique "loot" where you can drive a tank as stated in the video do add more depth to it. The different maps having different gimmicks like a base that heals you or turrets is something that holocure does not have (or at least didnt have when i played a while ago).

100% wont be permanent. Server issues aside, it is a reality that Riot wants the ranked ladder to be the main gameplay element of LoL. One thing I can say is that, this ''mode'' has too much work went in it for them to just scrap it. It will be like Arena where we will see it rotating imo. As the other commenter said, this becoming a TFT 2.0 is also very possible.

Actually, it makes perfect sense why this mode is free to play. You gotta understand that while yes, the cost of running the servers is high, Riot pretty much has endless amounts of money, keeping up these servers is probably spare change to them. With all this being said, the game mode looks insanely good, can't wait to get my hands on it😍

Once i saw that aatrox skin, i was sold. That skin, takes inspiration form my FAVORITE fighting game character Susano'o from BlazBlue. The bright colors running down the body, the head with grinning mouth and barely anything close to eyes, and shouldrrpads with mouths. I can't wait to start blasting his theme and playing aatrox

If they implement WASD movement (yeah I know they’ll have to remap some keys and you l’ll have to get get used to it), it will really change the game and I will come back to league PC. Wild Rift is much more fun simply because of the movement mechanics.

Hey! If anyone wants to play a very similar game, you can try Soulstone Survivors. I know, its not free, but iirc it has a free playable demo to see if you like it. It could also help with gaining some experience on the gamemode until Swarm comes, who knows!
