Another month has gone by! Or just disappeared, which feels more closely to the truth!
May is here, and it's even starting to be a little bit warmer in Norway! We are still playing games, and even though there might not be that many this month, we are having fun playing both new and old favorites.

I agree with Johannes about the top 3 - not only because the current way is confusing, but also because having an actual top 3 could help highlight which games hold up over time. "Biggest surprise" is probably sufficient to highlight new games.

I agree here. When you say a Game is in the next month also top 1 with other games played. The gane stand out really tall.

I'm for giving us your true top 3 even if it has repeats from previous. That gives us a comparison between that game and all the ones you played in this month as well as the previous month(s) it was on the list. Something that stays on the list is clearly a superior experience. And finding a superior experience will always "make us smile, like this"!

I think you shouldn't exclude previous top 3s! It would be interesting to see if a game stays at the top , or drops over time, or rises over time etc!

Concerning the top3: I think it makes sense to do it without the constraints of "repetitive games". You could always highlight a new game if the top3 is all games already played in previous months

I'm happy for you to give a shout out to a game that you played again and you want to say before the top 3 list that you played that game again and it was still a great experience, but won't be in your top 3 list.

I have the Korean version of Pueblo and the small size is nice, but this one just has a tad more character! I wish I had this one as it does seem to add some personality.

Maybe you can continue doing a top 3 "new" games but also mention which "old" games would be in your top 3 if they weren't already in a top 3 before.

Would be more work but how about for every one that stays from the last list you add one extra game to the fav of the month. Probably wouldn't happen all the time but def can see both sides of the issue. Happy gaming!

Salton Sea was my biggest disappointment - the action are too granular, we always had a runaway winner with no catch up mechanism. And the small fonts / icons are so not cool :( I really wanted to like it so I'm thinking about developing a variant for it.

Bardwood Grove was a big dud for me and my friend. Not very fun and very samey through the entire game. Taking a couple of 15 second long turns followed by an 8-10 minute turn is just absolutely brutal flow. I can't imagine playing with more than 2. I might almost be interested in trying it solo, but I doubt I will. Half the icons and mechanisms are only on cards pointlessly hidden in boxes. By far my biggest letdown lately

We luckily didn’t have the 8-10 minute turns, but the singing turns do take a few minutes! It was way better from game 2, but you’ll see our final thoughts on it in a video next week! :)
