I have the omen 17, yes when I bought it it was like $1.4K but one thing is I do not regret it. Yes MacBooks are priced similarly but the MacBooks specs have nothing compared to the performance of this pc. MacBooks yes are Apple but if you want editing, I can for sure back you up that omen is the way to go

The screen wobble and pricing and crazy but still good if you are a student or do something more than gaming

yea instead of any laptop I can build a pc for 1440p rather than wasting lot of money on a laptop. But dosent mean you shouldn't buy laptops at all they're still good if ur a traveller or live a bit away from ur house
