Very good review with interesting details. I would be curies to see in the future especially as I do have to use "wide" version myself how do the compare for example to DMT KR0. Do you just use regular 44 from DMT KR0 comper to RC903 wide or because DMT is fabric wide is not necessary? thanks

The DMT sizing is actually quite a bit different, I wear the EUR 43 DMT shoes in the standard width compared to EUR 44 Shimano (wide in this video). Both shoes are really comfortable, but if you have wider feet - the wide version is subtle but feels great on long rides.

Why Shimano only makes this up to a 48 when they do the 702 in a 50 and a 50 wide is very annoying I'd like the good stuff too.

How does the length compare ti other brands say sworks 7 as the 903 chart shows 292 in a 46. Most other brands show 295+ in a 46. Should sizing up be a concern ? Thank you

I haven't worn the Sworks shoes but I've found the 903 shoes to be really comfortable. I wear the same EUR 44 as Bont Cycling and FLR shoes. Other brands like DMT and Fizik run a bit smaller in comparison though so I'd recommend finding a local Shimano retailer and trying on a pair on in person if you can (even an RC7 or RC5 should have similar fit as the RC9).

hi there, do you know what is the function of the red spacer on the bolt nut? is it meant to be removed on the first installation to allow adjustment for/aft?

I believe the red spacers are just there to prevent any rattling from the cleats. You can remove them or reposition them if you want to adjust the cleat position.

How do they compare to the specialise S works torch shoe ..? which would you recommend the Shimano Sphyre 903’s or the s works

I haven't had a chance to ride with the Specialized shoes yet so I can't make any comments. Comparing the S-PHYRE to Bont or DMT I would say it's equally as good. The S-PHYRE's unique iridescent finish really make the shoes stand out.

Excellent video, one question, I use the RC7 on the road, the version that does not have the shiny tip. But I have a question about buying the sphyre 903, these are the same width as the RC7 or are they narrower at the end of the foot (at the tip of the shoe more or less in the area of the metatarsals, where the foot is wider) It's because it's a more professional shoe, not if they are a little narrower (tighter than my RC7) and I should buy wide or if I buy normal ones like the RC7 that I have. I have never needed wide shoes

It's a about the same width, but the material allows for more flexibility plus it has larger in the toe box.

The shoes in the video are the RC9 (the latest 903 version). If you're referring to the white RC7 (702) shown in the comparison, it's just a simple white color and can be found on their website - ride.shimano.com/collections/road/products/sh-rc702?variant=39709064822856

How’s the wide bont vaypor compare to the new width on the Sphyre?

I usually alternate between the Bont Vaypor S and these S-PHYRE shoes which are both EUR 44 Wide. I think the fit is very similar, plenty of space in the toe box and great arch support. In the past I've worn the standard width S-PHYRE RC901 / RC902 shoes in EUR 44 and they were also comfortable but prefer the wide version as the extra space feels great on long rides.

How does the sphyre compare to the dmt kr0 in terms of width? My feet are about 10.1 cm wide and the dmt felt snug but never gave me any issues. Are the shimanos narrower or wider? Thank you very much.

It's hard to make a direct comparison, but I would describe them as equally wide. The DMT KR0 shoes we have are a EUR 43 which fit very similarly to the EUR 44 Shimano S-PHYRE shoes. The knit upper of the DMT shoes makes them very flexible, so I haven't had any issues with the KR0 or the standard with SPHYRE shoes. You should consider a SPHYRE wide shoe though, we have the wide EUR 44 version and I would say it's even more comfortable than the KR0 shoes in standard width.

Thanks, hopefully you can find some shoes that fit well. You should also consider the Bont Vaypor shoes - they are still one of my favorites (also a EUR 44 Wide). The S-PHYRE shoes are really attractive but I'm honestly scared to ride with them and scratch it up.@@BrunoStocovick

Great question as we own both. I have a EUR 43 DMT KR0 and a EUR 44 Shimano RC903 so going one size up should be a safe bet. It's always hard to figure out shoe sizing without trying them on.@@neosensei4945

I haven't actually worn Giro cycling shoes so I can't comment on the fit. Compared to Bont (EUR 44) and DMT (EUR 43), the S-PHYRE (EUR 44) feels similar with a nice wide toe box.
