5:00 - Sounds like you were very "enamored" by the RS2's build quality. I needed this review, thanks guys.

I believe Smallrig makes a plate that lets you use the little Manfrotto (323?) plates.
@creativenords3 жыл бұрын
The top part of the DJI plate is Arca swiss. I can easily move my cameras from the RS2 to my peak design tripod without switching plates. So I think your workaround is a bit over elaborate .
@professionalpotato47642 жыл бұрын
Is it really arca swiss? I heard some people saying it isn't and Smallrig actually released a DJI RS2 plate with arca swiss quick release.

Regarding the QR plate, I use the 200 as well and I had it set up like that but all you have to go is get a SmallRig Extended Quick Release Plate and then you can mount the 200 right on it.

@Legendary_Tales2 жыл бұрын
I'm just trying to be helpful, sincerely. Regarding the base plate: The base plate being >1mm too big sounds like a quality control issue from the factory. Try sanding the edges with 220 grit sandpaper just a little bit. The end result should be a slightly rougher surface where you've sanded (which means better traction, and so not so much tightening) and the lightly modified base plate should now slide into place. Cheers!

I really hope they've also worked on reliability with the RS2. The TV I work at has a few Ronin S-es and each one is failing after 1-2 years, either mechanically or in software.

Unrelated, but I'm looking for an alternative to DJI. I "used" to use the mavic air drone but the app that controls the drone doesn't work anymore. Hell, the app that controls my phone gimbal doesn't work either. DJI is definitely sketchy when it comes to longevity of software.

The problem with those is it only gives you one point of contact screw vs 2 on bigger plates. It can cause a rotating camera depending on gear. I have an old moza gimbal. It's amazing but not much payload.

1. Base plate: you can unscrew the tightening screw and losen it up. Then put it back together and your plate should fit in. I did it myself. Look it up on YT. There are videos about it. 2. I really don't understand how you got such wobbly pictures while having the camera on a gimbal. Even with camera stabilizers off, it should never look like your footage. 3. Learn to walk properly and your footage looks super smooth. You dont need a $3,000 rig for that. 4. Why do you own gimbals when you don't use them or not even try to learn how to use them?

@@jaegerschtulmann They are the most popular tools for weddings , corporate shoots, small film productions etc. Along with drones, gimbals replaced many expensive and heavy equipment of the past. Sure, you dont always need a gimbal for everything, but you cant always get professional looking shots with just hand held movement and heavy post-stabilization. You would just need them for certain types of shots. By the way, if you are using mirrorless cameras with some light weight primes, you can always opt for models like the weebill-s which are wayyyy lighter and take 10 seconds to mount and auto tune. I'm not a fit person, but carry it around for at least 1-2 hours during 8 hour wedding shoots.
