That table full of guns is just outrageous! Why would anybody really need even ONE gun, much less a whole table full? Looks very dangerous to me! :-)

After sighting in at 60 feet, I could easily cover 5 shots with a nickel kzfaq.infoUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL ! Truly a pleasure to shoot! Scope was easy to adjust for eye relief. Only problem the varmints must have seen it delivered lol!Update: So impressed with shot groups at 30 yards I purchased a Hammers 3×9 with adjustable Objective scope! Now a true nail driver!

Love the old semi autos. Wish I could have them but no cat D or C, and "because I really want one" isn't a genuine reason according to weapons branch lol.

I would recommend the Winchester Lever Action 30/30. Its easy to use, doesn't kick to much, has enough power to put down just about any pig and has enough follow up shots for most situations. If your only a small bloke, get the gun in 44mag or 45 long colt.
@steveleeilikeguns12 жыл бұрын
@mattmg84 Yes..... I know a bit about guns and a bit about hunting but I still have a lot to learn about filming!!!! My sight just isn't what it was in the old days!!
@steveleeilikeguns11 жыл бұрын
The .223 is probably the best alround caliber. You can shoot just about anything with it, its cheap, accurate and you can get ammo anywhere. they are the best for roo and dog shooting but larger calibers work better on bigger pigs. If your lucky enough to get a govt. contact, they usually stipulate that you have to use nothing smaller than a .308. Given the choose I would use the 30.30 over the .223 for pig shooting but for roos and dogs , the .223 would be my pick.

Hi Steve. I've recently come from working on a cattle station out from Longreach. the guys i was working with & a number of others out there, some of which are also contract shooters, mainly for the meat market seem to lean more towards the .223. some using the ballistic tip rounds. from what i've seen of them they seem to have done the job quite sufficiently on pigs, roos & on wild dogs (not for the meat market). How would you rate the .223 up against the .30-30 or .270 as you mentioned?
@AJohnson03258 жыл бұрын
the 6.5 swedish is an outstanding round. The ballistic coefficient and sectional density are superb.

would you recommend the .223 pump or 30-30 for pigs when on bikes and walking around?

@Cgul96 There is a push to bring semi .22 back from class C to B which may happen, thats the first step, then maybe D to C.

We do a lot of hog hunting here in Texas, we have a huge problem like you do there. If your gonna be in the brush, the SKS,30-30 lever or the Mini-14 all are great choices, and let the camera man carry the 270. Cant wait for part two, cheers!

How you going, Ive just recently got my Firearms License, mainly for pig shooting (from NSW..based in WA) (in the ADF) and im a decent shot with military rifles but no idea what rifle to buy, me being used to 5.56mm rounds from both f88 and f89s...and even the 50. (also shot 12g. shotgun so recoil isnt a problem) just wondering what type of rifle would be good for a first? And where are you from? do you do like hunting tours etc just to show around new hunters?

Hey steve, I live in the NT and own a Rem 7615. I've heard mixed opinions on using 30rnd magazines for hunting. I know that there are no laws on round capacity here, but I've been told that you are not allowed to use them for hunting and only for range use, is this true? Haven't been able to find a definite answer.

we got a .22 semi auto. little ruger 10/22 perfect for spotlighting. bumma the semi auto licenses are so hard to get. i was looking at getting a 22-250 primarily for foxes and possible on roo's (yes we have permits) would they be any good for pigs? (if we went on the occasional trip) either that or a .243?

hey guys would a 243 rifle easily take down a big pig? Im thinking about buying a 22 for some fun and to leaner a bit more on shooting and for my other gun i was thinking a 243 or a 3030 winchester. Am i heading in the right direction? keep in mind im new to hunting :)
@steveleeilikeguns12 жыл бұрын
Not sure on the best as it depends on the size and bred of the animal, My favourite all rounder would be the .270 but on bigger deer I use my .300WSM.

@Pisscutterer10 жыл бұрын
If I could recommend 2 rifles for pigging, I'd be leaning close to the same you've suggested. 30/30 win lever, spot on open sights, but also a remington 7600 .243. I've had the .243 for about 10years, it's quick, damn accurate and I can knock over a pack of 10 pigs in about 25 seconds when they're on the trot @ 250yrds, very versatile gun, will take down anything with the right load and if you cant shoot well.

i have a 7600 in .308 its a nice bit of gear but even the standard 4 round mag only feeds the third round properly 50% of the time, ive taken to using my 22-250 despite people saying its not enough gun it hasnt let me down yet, and holdover is a breeze with such a quick, level round

Hi Rick. I think NSW has just put a ban on shooting deer with anything under 30cal. And as for your single shot idea, how about a combo gun like the Tikka 412S .222 / 12 Gauge on Ozguns.com at the moment those two calibers cover a lot of game.

Keep working at it. Here in the states it is at least 50%. We know the number is higher, but it is hard to get good stats on it because our firearms are not registered. You have a long way to go, but I know you are trying.
@PappaShmack11 жыл бұрын
to add on to what Steve said, yeah not many people have guns, its extremely rare in suburbs and cities, yes you need a license to get bolt actions, about a 2 month wait to start buying, then you have a 2 year license (which is hard to get) for handguns, and I've been shooting for a long time and never seen anyone above a Category D after probably 2000
@roybear90528 жыл бұрын
Love 6.5*55 powerful with low recoil 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@paintballdude90212 жыл бұрын
@enfiled303 i disagree. one i feel the .44 mag lever has a much faster snappier recoil than the .30-30. i dont even notice the .30-30 but the .44 mag gets my attention. .30-30 is a great gun but for thick brush i prefer my .44 mag. ive used both for taking black bear back home in north carolina prior to joining to military

Hello my friend. We have numerous hogs here in the state of Florida. I can tell u that the best gun and Caliber for hogs is a Browning BLR in .358 Winchester. I have used other guns and calibers, around 10 or so, and nothing is as prudent as this combination for hogs. Check out the gun and caliber and u will see. If u ever use this combo then u will know its potential. God Bless the USA

@hookset85 5% of australians own firearms but only a few have a Semi auto licence.We need a permit and licence to own a gun.
