I wonder if 343 considered using any other equipment for both Infected and Survivors? Like what if Alpha Zombies got a Grappleshot to close the distance but Survivors all start with a Repulsor to try and counter? And then your Beta Zombies could use the Shroud since they would have a more difficult time closing distance and could use the cover. I’m sure this wouldn’t be perfect but it sounds like a fun iteration to have Zombies grappling around the map only to be pancaked or blasted off the map with a Repulsor

This mode: I can take it or leave it.

Personally really enjoying the Season 4 update. The fact that they dropped the cutscenes for the Seasonal narrative seems like a good choice imo to focus on other more important things (like developing more modes without being constrained by a narrative like Infection)

This version of infection is so good, my only complaint is that iratus's death taunts get really grating. They need to be on a timer and not play if you've killed any spartans recently

2:13 if you grab the heavy machine gun in that place, you can stay close in the wall and you can see out of the map and also can see everything up there, so you can see if some infected spartans are coming down

This version of infection could very well be the best since Reach, the maps feel so good for it. Halo 5’s were far too small for the mode, but this feels much more open, I actually feel like I have a good chance at surviving! Shouldn’t have taken this long, but I’m glad it’s here!

I hope we get some special infection game modes occasionally, like “Drive or Die.” Survivors are slowed. Vehicles go extra fast. Zombies are fast. Alpha zombies get grav hammers. Last man standing gets a super speed boost, slightly faster than the zombies, forcing the zombies to have to flank and distract the last man standing. Also another one I forget the name of, but it was like a zombie escape gamemode. Players had to all group up and break down barriers to try to get to the safe room. It was a careful balance, how many people do you dedicate to slowly meleeing the obstacles out of the way, inch by inch vs how many on defense. It was so much fun.

Easiest way to win is for everyone to crowd around the turret shooter…turret shooter stays on the hun don’t pull it off and continuous fire don’t take your finger off the trigger

It’s definitely on of the most balanced and fun versions of this mode to play. even had a blast as the zombies, something that most previous versions fail to do. Will say though, the Chasm map does not work for this, too long open sight lines and the survivors just spawn camp the zombies.

This is my favorite infection tbh. The custom map layouts are great. I want creative forge infection maps in matchmaking like H5. I like that the alpha zombie can be countered by the dozens of threat sensors at first but as time goes on ammo + equipment becomes scarce. The shroud screen is fun to assist other zombies with and you can legitimately build a push with it and your active camo has never been better. The quantum teleporter being with the zombies is great because you can use it to apply pressure if everyone is in one location. Very smart evolution of the lunge imo and solves an issue infection has always had with unwinnable choke points. I like that the last man standing only has 30 seconds because the maps are just the right size compared to H5/H4/HR and having 12+ zombies running at you, some smart enough to teleport, has made being a survivor way more fun and a reasonable challenge you can sometimes win imo. I was worried about the commando but 20 rounds go quick and the other weapons are worth scavenging usually anyways. 343i did great in my opinion.

I hate that I have so many server conection issues, like, I play every game and I have no problems, but when I play halo infinite my hit registration is horrible and the lag is as well

Its not the same as Reach Infected, BUT I feel as if most of that is because of my circumstances, I work over seas now, and play halo when I can and I have had a blast playing this the past night, But it will never be 13 year old me and my boys up late on a school night after football practice grinding Halo Reach, and I have accepted that. This Infected isnt the same, but definitely rhymes in all the right areas, its fun to play this with new friends and makes me happy that old times happened, Ill always be a halo fan, and Im happy that 343 took at least some of our heart felt words and put it in game, super happy with this season. Long live Noble Teamz

This infection really reminds me of Attack of the Undead gamemode from the mobile version of CoD... Me and my brother loved playing that mode because some maps just had cheeky or straight up broken spots relative to people knowing about it and how hard it is to get to it. The Quantum Translocator reminded me of the flare they give you so you can respawn on that flare when you die. Though there was no alpha zombie to my knowledge, but then again the maps are usually small-ish and you can easily take out a lot of people when you spawn first as a zombie. The real strategy is targeting the pros first before they get to a good spot or to the broken spots. I think the broken spots were accessible because of the equipment... I think that was it, the shields you can climb on them and use them as step ladders.

Can you do 2 people in a fireteam for this?

My favorite is halo 4 because of the infected models but this is second for sure.

My biggest complaint right now is that infection is survivors to loose game mode. It really comes down to greed, stupidity, or lack of knowledge on the survivors part hat determines who wins. If to many survivors know to turtle up in a good defense zone than it can be very hard as infected to get them.

This infection completely sucks

2 years for this staple gamemode to finally come in. Congratulations on doing the basic requirement for a halo game.

It’s so trash how everyone spawns with commandos. Make a pump variant for the bulldog then have us spawn with an AR. Getting ranged by commandos is okay if it were a scarce pickup on the map. The last man standing for only 30 seconds is a massive face palm. They can’t help but put their own downgraded spin on halo.

This is not the best infection. I believe some tweaks could be made. I think the 30 seconds for last man is terrible, why change something that is not broken? The old system was much better. They also should add some sort of Pump Shotgun similar to the rest of the Halo games because Infinite's Shotgun is very inconsistent.

This infection feels like Hide and Seek more than it feels like Infection. I heavily disagree with ya here Infected are way too fast. 3x faster than normal survivors. Ammo limitation is neat. A portion of the maps are far too small for how quick the infected are. The radar needs to be 25m instead of 18m for Survivors. Having bots start as Infected is a disaster, leading to no one getting Infected.

Infection on a standard Behemoth map? Terrible...They could've spiced some of the older arena maps up just for this mode. The Infection game modes I played months ago via Forge creations looked substantially better thanks to the atmospheric changes to many of the maps.

Honestly, the mode is a fun novelty, but I’ve never been much of an Infection fan. Definitely not the kind of content I would base a season around. I’ll play it occasionally, but I never really thought of it as anything special. Don’t understand how it wasn’t in the game from the start. Tbh, this season is light in content, and after a few days, I think the novelty of infection will wear off and people will see this for what it is- minimal content.

It's really not. I'd say its worse than Halo 4s infection by a large margin. The maps are terrible. The scoring system is garbage and the sandbox is the shitty cherry on top. The scoring system needs a complete rework, forced crossplay needs disabled or input matchmaking needs added. All maps need completely remade for infection or they just need to use forge maps, and there needs to not be respawnable power ups. Being a zombie basically guarantees that you lose the match unless you absolutely ace your survivor rounds AND no one else in the lobby is good. Infected need a score multiplier. MnK players once again have a significant advantage by being able to flick hesdshot effortlessly just like how swat is ruined in this game, and they can spin around at mach jesus if tbeyre surrounded by zombies, you can literally chain spam Invisibility because it respawns, all you have to do is grab invis, wait a few seconds to use it and then once you use it you just sit on top of its spawn and infinitely spam it. No one can find you. Last time I played was 2 weeks ago and multiple matches in a row on different maps someone had used grapple or something to get out of the map to a spot where infected couldn't reach, became last survivorwith 5 hit Overshield and infinite ammo so cheesedick beam everyone while being completely untouchable. I'm not playing this bum ass mode lol.

terrible experience. settings reset, hit registration problems with rockets and melee, new menu music sucks. Infection is coolish, got boring kinda fast but I might try it again. Super underwhelming as always.

Honestly I'm not a fan of what they did to infection, I feel like they changed things that didn't need to be changed like giving Spartans the sonar gaget. I know that there are invisible infected and it's supposed to keep things fair, but back in the day I was perfectly fine without it, going up against the invisible guys kept me on the edge and alert and was way more fun not knowing exactly where they are until there close, but now it's just like "what's the point in being invisible when I can see you through walls in bright red''. And the infected move way to fast, I'm not saying this because I can't shoot them, I'm saying this because when I'm infected I can barely control where I go, I'm constantly getting caught on ledges and running into walls and on that one map CHASM I keep falling off the map because of how fast I'm going. Besides that one map I like what they did with the other maps and if you like what they did with infection in halo infinite then that's awesome, maybe I'm the only one that feels this way but I would have much rather gotten a infection mode that was simple like the old days.

i genuinely think this infection plays way too quick and its a good version of it but its just not as good as others ive played on mcc. halo 5s infection maps felt way bigger and more open for cooler plays and longer survival but i guess thats an unpopular opinion apparently

The best infection was halo 3.. the infection maps were crazy.. I remember one map with a giant house with boarded windows and infected had to break down the door to get to people.. there was also another map that was one giant maze with traps and multiple entrance points that would take u on different routes and the non infected had threat sensors but only sensed 5 feet away and the infected could see across the map.. that's what infection is supposed to be

It was difficult because of numbers and having the bulldog isn’t right same with the maps not being run down. They are too glowy and bright. I’m disappointed. Tell me how you guys think about this.
