I hope people understand from this video that they shouldn't make a platformer game as their first commercial project, unless it has a reaaaaallly special hook. I like that you hammered on the fact that adding rhythm components to your game would help with that, but with the last genre, I really hope people don't misunderstand it as "difficult platformer", because they are most likely bound to fail if they try to make that. Make something really cool and unique!

Picking the right genre is good first step but as we all know, it's not the deciding factor on if a game does well or not xD It does help to chose the right niche 😜 What kind of game are you making?

I think it's very hard to get noticed doing those type of games unless you have stunning visuals and a very unique mechanic...

NICE Personally I would prefer Looter Crafter since it has dominated the industry for a long time. Anyways nice video. lol

Yeah, the only reason it's not in first place is because it's significantly harder to make 😅 But I prefere Looter Crafters too

i went for unpopular genre RTS but hopefully it will get back to glory soon

I think that's a good choice too, it has a very low competition and most rts gamers play the game for a very long time. The reason why I didn't add it to the list is that coding wise it's more complex! Also making an rts usually takes a long time. Good luck!
