Continuity clipboard doesn’t require wifi to enabled on your Mac, though, only on the iOS device(s). My MBP is docked to an Apple Thunderbolt Display, which is hooked up to my AirPort Extreme with an ethernet cable, and I have WiFi completely disabled when docked. Continuity clipboard still works fine. And yes, I’ve also seen a tremendous improvement in reliability with Mojave, which is bloody fantastic as this is a fantastic feature!

ethernet is the wired version of Wi-Fi - thought id let you know, so the term you need is "network connection"
@Nefastos
@Nefastos 5 жыл бұрын
Sure, but when it comes to Apple's features, not all network connections are created equal. AirDrop, for example, does require wifi to be enabled on the Mac side, too, an Ethernet connection (even to the same network) will not work.

Thanks for the tip about the keyboard controls. This will be helpful when I have to charge the magic mouse. I can still use the Mac without a mouse. One thing I wanted to find out is, is there a way to access menus with the keyboard? HOLY CRAP thank you for the command tab + option shortcut, it's one of the main things I missed about windows it was so convenient that it would open up the window when you tabbed to it even when it was minimised, this video is a much better tricks guide than most others, this actually had many things that I wasn't aware of so thank you. The only thing about some of these MacOS shortcuts though is I find that I have to do some finger gymnastics to do the shortcuts, but maybe that's because I'm not used to it.

Hey Snazzy, always take the time to watch some of your videos, you are a nice guy I think, and for some weird reason I'm compelled to tel you how I use my mac, maybe cuz you showed me your tricks. - Here is how I use it for the last few years. Wen I log into it theres only the empty desktop, the menu bar and my dock are hidden to the top and bottom corner side respectively and theres no icons at all, yes no icons at all, no finder and no trash, hidden from the dock as well, then I have the dock set up for single app mode, and its, like I said to the bottom left. Only icons of running apps will show and they stack up one on top of the other or vanish If I quit the app, I love to see them at the bottom left corner of my mac, not sure how to do that on mojave... I rolled back twice from mojave I dont like it. I'll stay HS until Mojave is way way more mature or if I needed to change. anyways ... Then I interact with my macOS entirely thru shortcuts, commands, the app switcher, spotlight and Alfred. To me this is everything I need and its supper snappy and cool, other people are clueless how to use it lol - but seriously its so nice. Because of these use I have so much real state on my screen and because of single app mode is on, I can still chose to have multiple apps on screen because I call them from app switcher and at the same time If I want only one app to show, I click on the app icon from the dock. I do not need anything else. occasionally if I want more desktops is also because I'm using a full screen app so they just create themselves anyways for that app and I can go back and forth with control + arrows. Also If I want to do something with in an app and I can't remember the shortcut I use shift + cmd + ? that brings the menu bar into view with the help section selection I can type what I want and select the menu action. that also looks really cool with that floating arrow. ppl think that is some black magic and I'm a wizard or something. lol I love it. cheers man

Hey I was wondering if you know any terminal commands to reenable highlight tracking when using text to speech software that's naturally built into macOS. The old versions used to have it and although the new version still read text they don't track it with a highlighted difference anymore. It's extremely useful for me and I've been looking all over the web but I am unsure how to re-enable this feature. Any help would be greatly appreciated, tricks or tips. Great, thanks for the video. However, I don't get that if I minimize some app and then cmd + tab to it, it's not gonna appear and I need to press different key to do it. Seems not logical to me considering that minimized windows look the same in cmd + tab switcher. I think this makes it little bit confusing, because you have to remember/check what apps are minimized directly in dock and use different key combination in cmd + tab switcher to show them. Feels like UX flaw rather than feature. Or does it have any logical explanation? Thank you.

2:12 - I know you prefer Hide to Minimise (as do I) and have also covered the Terminal commands for shortening/removing the genie effect animation delay. Just fyi, this tip to hold Option while releasing Command only works for one window (the most recently minimised window). What I like to do for those times when I DO want to minimise a window (usually to prevent accidentally messing up my flow by un-hiding the application) is use App Exposé**. When I pull four fingers toward me, all the open in-use windows of the current app arrange themselves for presentation, and the minimised windows present as large icons below. When I click one of those minimised windows, that window is immediately ready, with negligible delay. That way I can "hide" particular windows of an app (by minimising them) and then access them again quickly and visually without dealing with animations or the Dock. **I have my left hand constantly poised for keyboard shortcuts (left thumb lives on ⌘, left pinky on Shift) and my right hand uses trackpad gestures as often as possible.
