Peach saying "Next Level Games." shook me a lil too much

With the failure of Battle League, Nintendo should’ve just ported or remake this with new additional content and called it Mario Strikers Re-Charged

One VERY big thing not mentioned in this video is a feature that me and a friend realised about the game. Leading players on the team (Mario, Peach, Luigi etc) will occasionally ask for the ball. As a bit of character building, my friend who always plays as Wario noticed that he asks for the ball about 5 times as often, which is SO in character for him it's incredible. Wario CONSTANTLY shouts "GIMMIE THE BALL!" "I'M OPEN!" "PASS TO ME!" and it's so funny. He even does it in situations that aren't good for the team, man just wants to be the star player who hogs the spotlight.

...I just realized that, as far as other Nintendo Characters go, an Inkling from Splatoon would REALLY freaking fits this universe.

Alax made convincing argument about Strikers without even mentioning the gameplay. That's how special this game is.

"Best Mario Spinoff" and I already knew it was Mario Strikers.

This game just OOZES with so much edge and charm at the same time, it's a miracle this game got even made! Let's hope that easter egg in Luigi's Mansion 3 shows they have plans for a third game...

Super Mario Strikers Charged is set in like, an apocalyptic wasteland. That's unironically such a cool setting for a Mario game, and tbh I would love to play a Mario 3D platformer set in the strikers universe. I just think that could be super fun. *closes book* Like that's ever gonna happen.

That moment at 10:03 was so unexpected yet so fitting it had me doubled over in laughter. Not even halfway in and I already love your content so much. This game was a big part of my childhood and brought back incredible memories, so thanks for that. I always played with Daisy cuz I loved her no bs punk rock girl style, Luigi for that IMMENSENLY fitting flamenco music and gentleman persona, and Wario cuz jesus christ his animations are by far the funniest

It’s so strange to me that Nintendo have made SO many Mario Tennis games every few years and are even going to release a Mario Golf game soon, but they haven’t made a Mario Strikers game in SO long, even though it was the sports game that probably has the most personality! I really hope that Next-Level games gets to make a new Strikers game in the future!

I think I know the biggest problem with Battle League. Notice how the camera is more zoomed out from the previous games, yet the character models are relatively the same size. Thats because the court is smaller and less impactful. There's no variety on the actual stage, no potential hazards to avoid, and the actual map feels so much smaller. In Charged, the court almost never took up the whole screen, it felt large and in charge(pun intended) with a bunch of different races in the crowd. Now, its just the standard fare on a smaller, plainer stage. talk about disappointing.

This may be an overused statement, but Mario Strikers just hits different

Watching this after the release of Mario Strikers Battle League just makes me sad.

I think my favorite thing about Alax videos is that they aren't even reviews. They're just a guy who's a huge fan of a thing gushing about how much he loves the thing. It's so refreshing. We need more videos like these, just pure, unrestrained fandom. It's good shit.

Just now realizing that a fucking plant has more swagger than me.

I come from the future to announce Mario Strikers Charged is getting a sequel.

This game fooled me into thinking that sports in real life was this interesting. Then I got stuck watching a game where two teams kicked a ball up and down the field, act like a light brush destroyed their leg and eventually tying after 3 hours.

I play soccer/football at a semi professional level here, and I love this game so much that every time I score I bring out a celebration directly from this game, especially Waluigi's and Petey's ones. My teammates don't get the reference, but they like the sassyness behind the Crotch Chop and the Petey walk.

This is game was so unique when it came out, and will probably never be brought back from the dead due to how different it was.

Now that it's finally happened I can only dream that Battle League will have HALF the charm and detail this game had. It's such an incredibly high bar to pass they really did knock it out of the park with Charged.

The people at Next Level Games are wizards when it comes to animating. Mario Strikers, Punch-Out, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and 3, all of them have amazing animation for their systems.

It's a shame that the Strikers series is pretty much dead now with its latest entry, Battle League, that couldn't even match the quality of its predecessor that released 15 years ago.

Bowser Jr. in strikers: Kid with attitude and feelings. Bowser Jr. nowadays: Daddy said I don't have to leave the clown kart.

Fast forward to now where battle league came out and it sucks. Gaming was so much better back in the day man. Just the charm and actual fun factor of games was different back then

Anybody else here after the disappointment of the new game? Let’s see how that game and this holds up, maybe the game will get better but yeah let’s see

As an artist I’m drooling over that box art and character art. It’s such a slap in the face and ever character looks like such a badass that could jump off the screen

I was legit watching the shrek 2 dvd video when this came out.

Hopefully now that Nintendo has full ownership of NLG, this series can make a grand return. This game is amazing and deserves it more than any Mario spinoff.

The beautiful art they only used for the European boxart is actually on a shirt I got 10 years ago. I always felt the most badass when I wore that to school and even more so knowing it was boxart from another region!

This game has got to be one of the most entertaining in Nintendo's lineup IMO. The art is great, the staging is awesome, I wish they made another tbh.
