@Carcamcentral is it possible to do a review on the Vantrue pro memory card it a popular dash camera company who has one of the best dash cameras for the money im using the Vantrue N4 PRO Dash camera but wondering if there 256 memory card is worth buying obviously they highly recommend it being used with there dash cameras, but its a 49$ memory card but I'm wondering if its better than the others considering its made for a dash camera specifically or will I be fine and save by just buying the Samsung high endurance. Thank you for this, I really enjoyed the tech explanation too. Frankly I find the huge spread of names that all sound so impressive very frustrating I bought a sandisk ultra car and it only lasted 3 months. I just picked up a couple of the sandisk SanDisk 256GB High Endurance for $34 each, compared to the SAMSUNG PRO Endurance 256GB which were $42 each, though they did come with SD adapters which I don't need. I am a truck driver and drive at least 8 hours a day, The dash cam has come in so much handy, and one day could save my CDL if I get into an accident. I have been using a dashcam since I started driving like 9 years ago. I feel like part of the reason I've been accident free. Other than my defensive driving classes I took when I got my license. I think a non negligible amount of it is due to the fact that if I do something stupid, I am going to look like a dummy when I put it on youtube.

Great work! I really enjoy your videos. The animations are top notch here as well. My vote also goes to the Samsung Pro Endurance cards. I've been switching out to them for all my dashcams, GoPros, and security cameras. Shoutout to the Samsung Evo Selects for a more affordable option and a >128gb option, but I'm glad to hear about the new SanDisk options for Endurance cards at 256gb!

I started of with SanDisk, until I had a brand new one fail (wasn’t from my regular supplier). Then I found Adata, which although a bit cheaper, never gave any problems. Just wanted to say that at 6:02 screen shot there is a recommendation for Transcend 400x, I have one of those in 128gb that I ran without issue in a daily driver (one channel 1080p Street Guardian) for 3.5 years. Got several years no problems from Samsgun plus and select, both, also. Guess I'm lucky but I have many 2-3 years-of-use cards and didn't buy an endurance card for the first time till last week

Great video! Very informative! Although I knew that micro sd cards fail with time, didn't realise that these endurance ones exist with MLC cells. Unfortunately, the 128GB Samsung Endurance costs 50 euros in my country at the moment... I 'm gonna go with the 128GB Samsung Evo Plus at 17 euros since even if it's starts acting up in a year or two, I can just buy another one and still I will have paid less.

Thanks for this video. I am surprised to find out that major brands (Samsung, Sandisk, etc) sell 128gb U1 Endurance level microSD card less than $40, while many DashCam manufacturers are selling their own memory cards for more than $100. Dashcam manufacturers might be getting a lot of profit from selling microSD cards at a higher margin, just like how Inkjet printer manufacturers are selling the printer at a discounted price but their inks at a higher price. Your video is the de facto standard video that I would like to recommend to others who are looking forward to upgrading their dashcam memory capacity.

Hey Chris, thanks! So at $150 it is the cheapest true 4K camera I've seen. It uses the same sensor (Omnivision OS08A10) as the Blackvue DR900S. It uses a battery as I checked the Amazon sales page where they are required to disclose if it has a lithium battery or not. I would use the EVO Plus (no + symbol) or the EVO Select. The Select and Plus are hte same, only the Select is the only version sold on Amazon directly (it's an exclusive). There's no other EVO versions being sold.

Car Cam Central - Thanks for informative reply! According to a reply from a Rove customer service agent, they ONLY recommend using the 512k card from Samsung. On their comments section a “ poster “ said “ Only use Sandisk “ as other cards will error out. Upon asking Rove, the “ poster “ posted false information in an attempt to drive sales to Sandisk. Rove ONLY recommended the Samsung cards for 4K use. I hope this clears up any mis-Information being put out there by mischievous people. Please do a review of the Rove 4K Stealth! For the money ($149.99), the features, and camera quality, plus the app, appear unbeatable this 2019 Holiday season. I am buying one as of this morning and would happily loan it to you for an official review on CCC if needed. ~ Happy Holidays CS

Currently using a Sandisk Ultra 256gb card in Vantrue N4. Have 10 cameras in use and I'm wondering if I messed up getting the 256 card vs say a 32 or 64. When the 256 gets close to full it takes the camera about 3 minutes to begin recording. Understandably since it's so much memory. May try a lower capacity and see if it will load faster at capacity.

Watch now this youtube video and see my own comment back about the Sandisk micro SD cards. In the dashcam it worked long time good. But when i use it into a orange pi the micro sd cards from sandisk broke a lot in just a few months. Now for arround 2 years using Samsung micro SD cards and there is not!! just one broken! I am really impressed and use now a Samsung Endurance 64GB also in my Viofo A119v2 What is the best time to replace a Samsung Endurance card? :)

Would you please recommend the best card for Thinkware q800 pro Samsung endurance 128 gb vs Sandisk ultra 400 go? Your info leads me to go with Samsung endurance but not sure if it works flawlessly with the thinkware. Been reading about restart loops and missing footage if not thinkware branded an card

Hi I’ve just had a BlackVue 750s 2ch fitted. I got the magic pro so I could have it constant recording in parking mode. It’s got a 32 g card and only records up to 3 hrs and then overlaps. Would you recommend a 128g card from blackvue or a Samsung. Thanks

I wonder if you can help. I have a Akaso DL12 mirror dash cam. I've used a Evo select, and a Sandisk Extreme Pro. I'm not sure if these endurance cards will help with my problem. I'm getting an error that reads, (card slow restartrec...). I've even set the cam to record in 1080p, and this still happens. Will a endurance card help, or do I need a card with higher write speeds?
