Im stuck between helmets. Maximum budget is 500 USD. Im going to use it for an MT09. Safety is king. Exo R1 air is the clear safest, right? But the looks are a bit unappealing to me. I like the looks of the shoei, arais but theyre off my price point. Im looking at other options like the bell qualifier dlx mips and bell SRT bell star dlx mips. Any other suggestions? Bell looks good and classy in my opinion. HJC just lacks that "wow" form and brand factor. thanks for the video very very informative esp the part with the drop down sun visor.

I really like the AGV K1, lot of helmet for a fair price with some amazing graphics. It offers a lot of ventilation so it will not be the quietest one in this comparison. I have not ridden in all of these helmets but I did ride in the EXO-R420 and felt it was pretty darn quiet. - Van

You have a couple of options. 1) replace the padding with thinner padding 2) sell the helmet and buy a larger size. - Van

Thanks for watching! The more vents the more noise you can expect. IMO each of these will be pretty close to one another in that department. The Scorpion 420 and the HJC i10 both offer center mounted shield locks which helps to keep the shield sealed tight. This helps to keep the noise in check. - Van

Hey I had a question. I'm looking to do a trackday next season. I have a AGV K6S right now and im planning on getting a track helmet. Ive looked at the I10 and the K1, I just wanted to see what helmet you think would be best for my situation. Im just torn on whether to use the K6S as a trackday helmet and get another helmet for the street or get another helmet for the track and use the K6S as a street helmet. IDK LOL , any help is appreciated! Thanks!

No reason not to use the AGV K6 S on the street and the track. IMO the only reason I would have two different helmets is if my street helmet had a drop down inner shield. Helmets with this feature are thicker in the brow which will reduce visibility when you are in a tuck. - Van

If this is the price range you are shopping in I would say watch the video to compare the helmets we show and decide which one looks the smallest to you. To be fair the price point helmets like these typically have a larger outer shell size than the high end lids do. - Van

My brother in law bought one of those shit cheap Chinese amazon helmet and he got into a really back reck about two weeks ago, the helmet saved his life with ease. I was surprised on how well it actually held up considering he was going around 50mph

Trying to decide between the Scorpion EXO-710 or EXO- 420

Both are good options with the big difference being the R710 uses a fiberglass shell as compared to the poly shell in the 420. The 420 is a newer model and have the shield lock in the center of the shield which I really like. - Van

Is the Scorpion R420 about the same as their R710 helmet? Is the R710 worth the extra cost?

I would say these helmets are very similar with the 420 being a newer design than the 710. While I think they are both excellent helmets I prefer the 420 to the 710. - Van

IMO the HJC i10, Scorpion 320/420 and the Bell Qualifier are all better options. Build quality is better with each of these models, especially with the Scorpions. - Van

If you look closely, you'lle see in the video, tht the sun visors in the HJC-Helmets are garbage. They just don't go down low enough and don't cover as well against the low sun, as other brands. In my experience that's a problem with pretty much all of HJC's range. This doesn't detract from the high quality of this video, though. :)

Thanks for watching! I think garbage is a little tough. We included the pics with the shields down so riders can see how far the inner shield extends down. End of the day everyone has different likes and dislikes. You clearly prefer an inner shield that is a little longer. - Van

@@sportbiketrackgear I don't have a particularly large or small head (58 cm) but from my experience with HJC helmets, the visor just ends right dead center in my line of vision. Maybe that's just me, but i recommend to anyone to just spend some time wearing the helmet indoors, before going out riding in it. EDIT: The bike you're riding is of course also a big factor here. Sport Bike riders with low handlebars might not even have any problems with the visors. I'm a naked bike rider and sit more upright.

My 60$ helmet has sun visor and it is pin lock ready and it came with it but what bothers me is helmets like k1 don't have that sun visor and to use that pin lock visor you have to pay extra for that insert

sadly, the price is higher here in Thailand . even the Shark company has its own factory in the country, the price is still all higher than the price you find on any usa and europe selling gears websites. unlike Fender guitars the price is the same here in Thailand to where else in the world. it is a safety stuff and i don't know why government can't just control the price. here many people only wear local brand helmets but with t shirt , no gloves . short pants or long average pants and flipflop . eventhough the death rate on motorcycle is top 5 of the world. i believe we are number 1 or 3. the 1/4 of reason i believe more or less because we do not wear safety protections.

No Icon, the Alliance GT would be their sub $200 helmet and it his being discontinued so I chose not to include it. That said it is not a bad helmet but there are others on this table that are better IMO. - Van
