I like corepads the most on glass. They are really smooth and quiet and got very low static friction. The stock skates of my dav3 were good too, similar to the corepads. Tiger ice i found to be decent at first but after the break in they became a bit scratchy. Considering the high price I agree that they're not worth it. As dots may be worth it like you said but I haven't tried them. The x-raypad obsidian dots I did not like at all. They're really scratchy and loud and have lots of static friction. Using them felt like grinding hard plastic against glass. Also the obsidian dots got affected really bad by dust on the pad, way more than all the other skates. I'll be cutting my own skates from the corepad DIY 7x10cm ptfe sheet. On glass I feel having rounded skates is not important, it may even be bad because it causes the contact area to increase with wear. So i feel cutting skates yourself is perfect for glass and you get even more ptfe/$ than most dot skates. Currently I am still using some core pad dot skates that I made out of the middle part of the sensor ring from some old corepads and I like them more than all the other skates that I tried.

I tried the obsidian dots and I felt my aim off. I also got the obsidian donuts and the control is much better. For context, I'm using a super glide glass pad.

I think you should emphasize the strength of dots. I got a tiger ice v2 $8 pack of 40 dots. I put 8 dots on my mouse so I have 4 sets left. It solves the common complaint of glass mousepads. It reduces the noise of the skates on glass, it is way cheaper, and I also never run into the issue of having dust or hair getting caught under my mouse. I would not recommend non dot skates on glass.

the obsidians are out of stock everywhere i look right now, and my current mouse skates have a huge scratch in them, which makes them unusable on my skypad. is it worth waiting for the restock or should i just get something else, like the tiger ice dots, right now?

Like you use glass skates on a glass pad?!? If so stop asap cause you probably damaged/damaging your glass pad always wanna use a softer material like PTFE or something similar when on glass
