GREAT demo, Andrew! And the layout seems HANDS DOWN... ...FAR SIMPLER than ANY other rendering solution on any other DAW implementation which I have observed... Whether Cubase/Nuendo, Pro Tools or ANYTHING else (so far). The Presonus team KILLED this one!

I switched over two years ago. While everyone was telling me not to, I knew this was the right choice. It was a matter of time before ATMOS was available. And now they are truly playing with the big boys. You made a great choice. Studio One and its updates are getting better and better.

Honest, I didn't have a pair of headphones on while listening on my IPhone 11 -but I could hear those shakers move as you were messing with the spatial parameters. Wow! That 3D depth mixing is insane! I believe once a mix engineer masters how to mix in Atmos,that will set them apart from other engineers! Great video as usual Andrew!

The Dolby Atmos Renderer interface looks like Logic Pro's Dolby Atmos Renderer, Since I use Logic Pro, I hope that Logic Pro brings improvements to the User interface and the Spatial Audio function, including adding the Bed, Loudness, and Output VU meter inside the Dolby Atmos Renderer window on the next version of Logic Pro. The Object panner looks similar to Logic Pro, but the Bed/Surround panner should add a dome view on the bottom for the height, rather than switching the tab to the height setting.

Great Video. But where can I get the Presets for the Surround Delay. I have updated my Studio One and there are no Presets inside the Surround Delay. Can you help me ,please?

Hey professor Andrew I have a question that's a little off topic here. I just switched out my computer and when I open up a session from the old pc, it shows that some plugins are missing. It has the plug in name but it's red. I installed all the plugins on my new machine. I even directed the correct look in folder under the plugins option but I get this quite often and usually have to reload the same plug-in from the plug-in manager on that track. Is there a way to stop this. Thanks

But then when you export, how do you upload? Is it a different format? The streaming services accept this format? For youtube, its obviously accepted because we just seen a video with it, but how do you edit the video? The video editing software also accepts and renders this format? Sorry, I'm very new to this and not very clever 😂

I have I problem mixing the Dolby atmos when I am mixing with 1024 bit rate . He charging the rate from 1024 bit to 512 bit that is an issue for me

So...just to make sure I understand this properly...I can mix in Atmos with Studio One, and output it in such a way that consumers using headphones and/or earbuds will hear the Atmos effect, or at least close enough to the real deal. Is that right?

My other comment, aside... I am wondering how this exports. I mean, if there is an artist who needs to hear their mix remotely, what would that process look like?

There’s a few different options! As long as their listening on headphones, you can export the Dolby Binaural mix for headphones and even the 7.4.2 bed as well!

@@ProducingInTheBox So a 2-track mixdown would fold into a stereo wav file? Or would the listener need a software driven control "wrapper" to specifically listen to it?

@@sekritskworl-sekrit_studios no! The stereo mixdown still sounds like it does in the DAW! Now there is a stereo fold down too so you can listen normally!

So if it is "folded" down to stereo... will the target listener hear their 2-track wav file from a device (as though/using the same approach) as though they were listening to a stereo file on headphones? Hmmm... I'm not sure if I am conveying my question intelligibly. I bet that a ton of people would LOVE to see a mix go from studio one project window, and get processed, and passed to a device (outside of the computer)... like an MP3 player or a phone with headphones... ...an opportunity to see the full chain of events "as executed"/without mental interpretation (which may fail some of us).

It's wild to me how Dolby Atmos Binaural sounds so bad, I wouldn't say bad, but it definitely doesn't sound like Binaural at all. Now I think Dolby atmos is cool if you have the right setup (I know 2 studios that have actual Atmos) and zero consumers that do. Logic I believe nailed Binaural mixing years and years ago. Don't fall for the marking of Dolby, It's not great music. Most listeners "Atmos" setup will be a sound bar that they bought from wallmart. It is what it is

Sadly there is going to be a mountain of secondhand monitors on eBay in a few years time when everyone wakes up and realises that Atmos was a futile industry led bandwagon.

Atmos is no good for music it just ruins it

It can ruin a mix if it is incorporated incorrectly or overdone. But applied sparingly and purposefully, it can enhance the sonic of a record. But to each their own.
