John Krasinski did such a good job as Jim. To be able to convey all of the wonder and terror of finding out you're going to be a parent with facial expressions and one line of dialogue - amazing.

One reason he was so good is -- as jenna fisher said later -- pam and him were largely jenna and john. There was so much of them that was them in real life and that is so amazing!

What I find incredible is that I'm able to look at each clip, even out of order, and figure out exactly where they are in their relationship despite having only seen a few episodes. They stay consistent enough in terms of context ("I can't because I'm engaged" or "we're just friends pranking out coworkers" or "we are 100% kissing in the closet, but we're on the low-down about it"), but always shake up how they interact with each other so that it's always moving forward.

When Pam kissed him in the Chili’s in Season 2, in a second, he goes through several different emotions, and when he sits back down, he immediately stops smiling as he starts to process what happens, and Pam is the absolute master of that sort of nonverbal expression all throughout the show.
