The Best of Nyon Switzerland

Our destination for today is the beautiful lakeside town of Nyon Switzerland.
Located just about 15 minutes from Geneva, it features scenic sites, such as the waterfront, the white medieval castle and the three Roman columns... And, guess what, we got to see them all!
The Nyon Castle houses the local history museum and it features cells of a former prison (which to be completely honest we found a little bit terrifying).
The three Roman columns, in turn, are just a short walk away from the Castle and we got to admire them on the esplanade of the Marronniers (Chestnut Tree Square) while overlooking the great Lac Léman / Lake Geneva.
Finally, we even found a grocery store for all of you Americans living in Switzerland and feeling homesick. Although it had really bad junk food we bought a cake for Angelique's birthday for old times' sake.

What a wonderful thing that you give your girls the opportunity to explore the world. I like how they are so inquisitive & enthusiastic. My 13 year old is the same way. Happy travels.

I think the photos of the facial features was to help build facial compilations of suspects. The witness would say, "his eyes looked like this, and his mouth was shaped like this," etc., and an artist could compile that into a sketch for posters. Just a guess though. :-)

Hello, j'ai visité un dimanche et j'ai suivi le même parcours, je veux juste rajouter qu'on a une vue magnifique sur la montagne du mont-blanc à voir ave des jumelles ou sans et qui se trouve derrière le jet d'eau , a ne pas rater

you're so right about the food! the food in the USA is terrible compared to the rest of the world, the regulations are too lax.

The USA has the best food in the world. You just have to know where to look.

@@billetem5868 i respectfully disagree. Many of the items at my local supermarket are tainted with corn syrup, high fructose syrup, GMOs, and bleached flour. The baked goods in particular. Everything tastes fake. The local falafel cart in my area uses gmo soybean oil for frying everything! Sorry but the falafel in the Middle East tastes 50x better, and they don't use that kind of frying oil over there. Also, the cows here are fed hormones and antibiotics if you buy conventional. Of course nothing is perfect anywhere, but the lobbies here in the U.S. are strong and our food chain is severely tainted. Things that would never be allowed in other countries are allowed in America. It's no wonder we have the highest rates of autoimmune diseases, heart diseases, and diabetes in the modern/developed world.

We have a love/hate relationship because of the pricing. You really need to earn a Swiss salary to be able to fully enjoy it.

I bet you have a degree in education. You are always teaching. Too bad the girls have to do homework when they are on an outing, but it looks like you have tricked them into thinking it is fun.
