This was our second time visiting Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado, and we can't wait to go back for our favorite hike in the park (and one of our favorite hikes overall) - the Petroglyph Point Trail!
This year we decided to spend a few nights at Mesa Verde's Morefield Campground and finally ventured out as far as the more quiet, less traveled WETHERILL MESA where we've seen the amazing Step House, explored the Badge House Community area, and checked out Nordenskiold Site #16 - all are are pretty low-traffic areas/trails because of the distance from the park entrance to this remote mesa. Then we headed back to CHAPIN MESA, the main area of Mesa Verde National Park where the park museum and restaurant are located and where your kids can get their Junior Ranger Badges as well.

Chapin Mesa: 20 miles (37 minutes)
Wetherill Mesa: 27 miles (54 minutes)
+ From Chapin Mesa (first of the two) to Wetherill Mesa: 18 miles (36 minutes)
