Those big spiders everyone panics about (Huntsman Spider) are probably the least thing to worry about here. Every household has at least one of them lurking around and all they do is keep other more dangerous spiders away as they are always on the move. It's the little spiders you have to watch out for and even then, no one has died from a spider bite in like 50+ years. You also mentioned Rednecks, we call them depending what part of Aus you're from Bogan's, Yobbo's or a Houso's 😁

That was not reassuring at all hahaha. We have small deadly spiders in the US too, but it's those Huntsman ones that scare us because we have nothing like those here. I saw a video of them in wild. The entire ground looked like it had 2 feet of snow, but it was actually just their webbing. How can y'all sleep at night knowing one of those could be lurking? I want to visit AUS so badly, but they won't let me take a flamethrower on the plane lol.

@@beanscollections2020 I hate to break this too you, but what you saw was most likely a tarantulas web and that's not Australia lol, or it's just a fake video and movie magic Do huntsman spiders live in webs? Huntsman spiders don't build webs. As their name suggests they are hunting spiders, coming out at night to search for prey. They will eat a wide range of animals, mainly insects (including cockroaches!) so they can be pretty useful to have around.

Do you happen to know what part of the house those huntsman prefer? I'm in the North- Midwest US, and find spiders in mostly bathrooms and basements.

@BeansCollections I know what you are talking about and it has nothing to do with huntsman spiders since they, as already said, don't build webs. The photos/videos you are referring to are of what happens after flooding, and isn't unique to Australia. The spiders get washed out of their usual homes and have to wait until things dry out and they can disperse again. The particular example that has been doing the rounds in recent years is a particularly extreme example of this.

Even though New Zealand is quite close to Australia, we don’t have any land snakes or other widely found dangerous animals. We only have two species of venomous spiders which are hard to come by. We do have a commonly found spider that does bite though.

Yea that's about it and they're nothing to worry about, but America..... you have Bears, Wolves, Mountain Lions, Bob Cats, Coytes, Racoons, NYC Rats, Moose the size of a truck and let's not forget the most dangerous animal of them all, the gun totting Trump supporting American 😁

Gun laws are not as tight as the UK. Gun laws are tight in Australia in the sense that you need to follow a process to get a license. In order to get a license you need to have no criminal history, no mental health issues, be part of a gun club or show where you can securely store the weapon etc. You know, just common sense stuff. Once those are fulfilled, you can even get a AR.

To the man with the beard - you only think you can do an Aussie accent. You cannot. The true, pure, Aussie accent is one of the hardest to do in the world. Non-Australian actors, even after elocution lessons, admit that they can rarely can do it. An aware Aussie can easily pick out a copying attempt.

If you are under 30 years old, you can apply for a work and travel visa. You can get one like that once and then you get to be in Australia and New Zealand for a year. You can also work during that year so you can earn money for housing and other things you need. I thought of doing it when I was 27 but other things came up so it didn't happen. Regret it now.

Seriously I am a city person, born and bred and I couldn’t live in a house without insect screens on the windows and insect/security doors. Why? Because when I was a kid we came home from a day at the beach to my aunt’s rural property and we all went in through the front door but my uncle went around the back out to the drop toilet (dunny). My aunt opened the back door and then tried to open the half’n’door (bottom solid, top insect screen) for my uncle to come in but something was jammed up against it. My uncle saw her and came running around front into the house, grabbed his shotgun and ran around the back. After screaming at her to shut the solid wooden door and go to the front of the house he blasted out the bottom of the outer door killing the biggest venomous snake that he said he had ever seen in his life. No rural life for me, they are a tougher breed of people.
