And old mates bogan accent was the icing on the cake. Majority of countries across the world don't understand our sense of humour let alone understand wtf we are actually saying. We shit stir, we take the piss outta ourselves, we take the piss outta every other country but they have no idea we are taking the piss coz they can't understand "Strayan". We are a unique bunch & i really hope that we never lose our sense of humour, way of life & our culture. We started to Americanise but we are going back to the good old days of being proud Aussie's, embrace our humour & continually take the piss not just outta ourselves but every other country across the globe especially our siblings across the ditch.

There was a long history of dealing with rabbits which were an introduced pest that thrived in Australia with no natural predators. One attempted solution was a rabbit-proof fence that stretched for hundreds of km hence the reference to the Great Wall. This is why the Bigpond commercial is the clear and long remembered winner.

The Emperor Nasi Goreng....nasi goreng is fried rice in Indonesia and Malaysia. The "keeping the rabbits out..." is a reference to the Rabbit Proof Fence/vermin proof fence in Australia. At 1,833km long it was the longest unbroken fence in the world. A reference to the Great Wall of China.

To put the Telstra ad into further context: Australia has a fence running from South Australia to Southern Queensland, approximately 5000 kilometres long. It was designed to restrict the Australian native dog, the Dingo, from pastoral parts of Australia but is also known as the Rabbit Fence. Nasi Goreng is an Indonesian cullinary dish (meal). You can't beat the ad's that were made in the 70's 80's and 90's, Aussie humor back then was legend! Before home computer's were in every household, school and business, this was a time of real creativity that came from a persons soul. Once the internet became a household staple, everything around the world became the same, individuality became a dirty word, and year after, decades later, it has just gotten worse and so ridiculously silly, that if one was to think differently they are instantly cancelled! I can't wait for the eventual implosion that must occur over the stupidity of where the internet and Social media has taken the world! Sorry, that rant got out of hand, lol. Would love to see some adverts from the time era i mentioned. Thanks mate!

For context, I feel like it helps to know that there is a very long fence (over 5 and half thousand km long) in Australia that was originally built to keep the rabbits in the South East of the continent from spreading to the North and West. It was a huge failure (shocker- it wouldn't have taken a rocket scientist or even a veterinarian to predict that the rabbits would just burrow underneath), but it has since been maintained to keep dingoes in check.
