You seem to be knowledgeable about the grips but you don't describe well. You keep saying "this one" has better feel while "this one" has better stippling, etc but WHICH one is "this one"? The grips are not even shown in the video while you are referring to whichever "this one" you are speaking of. I would like to be able to follow you better.

Polymer 80 grip. Hands down. 1911 style grip angle, aggressive texturing, thumb ledge, undercut trigger guard and simply beautiful. Slimmer than the X style and better feel in hand (IMHO) than the Wilson. Try it out.

This is what I hate about the 320, there’s so many modules to try out 😂

Icarus Precision is hands down the best imo. Pricy, but worth the price tag. I specifically use the ACE Compact grip (SC size grip) with a compact slide chambered in .40.

I have pretty big hands (size XL gloves are a snug fit) and the Wilson Combat grip is great. I have no complaints about the stock grip and I haven't tried the X frame. But the WC grip is definitely an improvement over the stock grip.

I’d like to retry the X Carry with a weight kit. It might be the winner, but someone also just mentioned on another video of mine about these 1811 grips so apparently that’s the sauce now? I guess this is the double edged sword with the modularity of the P320s haha

AXG module is great but my favorite is the Polymer 80.
@Berserkable8 ай бұрын
Polymer grip mod? I’ve had basically all of them and there’s only one that’s perfect for me. The Brouwer M1811 is perfect. True 1911 grip angle as in the front and back strap separate angles, simple yet “tactical” visuals, decent grip on the front and backstrap (for more money you can get the silicon carbide or laser etching for more grip), it’s slim without being too small or awkwardly shaped like the Wilson imo. It’s just like a blade in the rear and my hand wraps around it too much making the Wilson my least favorite. The m1811 easily does the best at pushing your hand way up into the beavertail. All the other grips I have to play with my grip to get truly high up on the beavertail. The m1811 also just feels more solid somehow. Now metal grip mods I have no idea. I hear fantastic things about Icarus but I like grip panels on metal frames so idk. Brouwer is toying with the idea of a metal m1811 I believe too. 2nd place goes to the X Compact grip. M is a tad too small so I believe a L would fit perfect. It’s comfortable and removes the extra wide beavertail “side ledge” the regular X Grips have that dig into my thumb knuckle.

I might have to try one out. Are they weighted from the factory, or do you have to buy a weight kit like the X-Carry/Wilson Combat modules? I haven't done a bunch of research on them.
@fushigiwiggles79259 ай бұрын
The icarus frame is all metal so it would add weight but damn it looks so good!
@distastedefense9 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t mind some added weight. Shooting this with the tungsten kit as well as some time behind a 2011 I can see the benefits of a full metal frame.

how do you like the TXG and AXG grips next to this? I'm running the AXG with LOK grips black brass grips and liking the texture of their panels the best, but might pick up a TXG for comparison
@peterlundberg50822 ай бұрын
I ended up drinking the 1811 koolaid and it tastes good. The factory grip on my M17 is adequate but allows some rotation in my fairly big hands. The Wilson grip is an improvement, texture-wise, but I still feel pretty “meh” about it. The 1811, however, locks the pistol into position in my mitts. I don’t find myself subconsciously trying to re-grip on the fly. The heel and beavertail help it to point much more naturally for me, too. It really does feel similar enough to a 1911ish flavor to warrant comparison. Ultimately, the dimensions may be hard data but the experience is totally subjective. For me, the Brouwer grip is sweet like bee vomit.

Good vid showing and explaining the facts and your opinion to us. However, when you shoot your vids, I’d suggest being aware of the backlighting or moving yourself out of the shade into the light too. Just makes the viewing experience better. Example would be when you held each module up show us, but they were all dark because the camera’s exposing for the whole frame and there’s a ton of light behind you. Other than that, keep shooting and look forward to more from you!

If you’re having issues with the stippling on the Wilson combat on the back strap for carrying…I took sand paper and sanded it a bit to be less aggressive
