Don't be nervous about Manila. Been there 5 times in the past 18 months. I feel more safe in Manila than most US cities. Manila is loud and busy. Tip: Use Grab. Similar to Uber, but you pay the driver cash. Also, the light rail system works well if you're traveling North/South. My preferred base is the Pasay area, great shopping, plenty of restaurants, best mix of high end and cheap for hotels and everything you need. BGC is really nice, but in my opinion, it's too much like the nicer areas of most cities around the world. When in Manila, I prefer to experience the Filipino culture.

👍🏻thanks for the advice. I am learning more about the Pasay area and others….who knows, I may eventually learn to like Manila

No place like home as they say and I'm sure the dogs are very happy to see you two again. Nice tips in this video and I especially like the one about using that skyway to get inside the airport instead of using the main entrance which always had a long line just to get thru the door, I'll just get dropped off next to that McDonalds across the street. Thanks for the video Kevin and take care, Hope Jennalyn feels much better by now.

OK, you convinced me--this is where I'll stay when I need to be near the Manila airport. Perfect that you can just walk over a sky bridge to get to terminal 3 of that airport for flying out of Manila. Great price too along with the amenities. Also, you got through that long line at the airport quickly--I was thinking it may take so long that you might miss your flight.
@TooMuchTimeonmyHands657 ай бұрын
With the restaurants….it’s perfect. If you take a cab and get dropped off at the front of the airport…then you have 15-30 minutes to get through security 😉

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has four different terminals connected by a free shuttle bus. Of the four terminals, Terminal 3 is the only terminal with nice hotels. There are Manny nice ones there, We have stayed at but prefer to stay at the Savoy. We have uses the walkway, but it is a lengthy walk. The Newport Area is nice but don’t venture too far behind the main road, which has a visible policeman presence. I do not use taxis in Manila. I do use Grab in order to get reasonable prices. To get from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 costs only 230 PhP, which is a littlr more than USD 4. The area you stayed has some good restaurants. For your listeners going to Dumaguete, domestic flights for Cebu Pacific and Air Asia now fly from Terminal 3. Philippine Airlines (PAL) flies from Terminal 4.

Good tip on the condo! Being right there by the airport means a lot. I enjoy Solace hotel in San Antonio Village. @TooMuchTimeonmyHands657 ай бұрын
Don’t worry John, at that time it will take less than 10 minutes to get through customs. You might as well stay in up all night in the airport. Throw you a pint of booze in your luggage and get a mixer at the airport. You ARE gonna crash once you get to Dumaguete
