This is one of the best reviews I have ever seen on any keyboard! I picked one of these up that had been purchased but never opened for a very good price so I wanted to watch a few videos. I already have some of these switches in another board so I was familiar but not with everything else. I was surprised at how thick the keycaps were, I'm not a fan of the extra fonts but they are very nice for stock keycaps. Over all the board is very nice and again your review is great, sub added, looking forward to more content! BTW - if you haven't tried the Epomaker Peace Lily switches they are quite nice and cheap. They are a fast light linear that are loud and pretty deep. I leaving the matte switches for now but may add those for a little more sound.

Thank you for the tip abt the physical toggle, I managed to get the board to show up on Via when I switched the toggle to off & went into USB mode. So confusing! Also I noticed the TG() & TO() don’t work. Wonder if anyone else experienced this too. VIA seems kind of buggy but the board’s great overall so I’ll keep it. Thanks for this great review!

To answer your question about tape mod, no. I think alot of new keyboard enthusiasts are getting into the hobby with all the mods, but the overwhelming majority of "veteran" keeb enthusiasts are actually going the way of no mods at all, no plate foam, no case foam, especially no PE foam, etc. The clack is so in right now 🤷‍♂

@@CaloysKeyboards IMO always go for personal preference and ignore stupid trends that are only allowed to exist because others are chasing "different" instead of "improvement". Though excessive clack causes me physical discomfort like nails on a chalk board, so I'm very bias.

@@AAKhanivore There's a brand of painter's tape that everyone here in the Philippines seems to use. MTX. It's green like in the video. But I've also used just regular beige masking tape. Either is fine.

I don't think that's mapped to the keyboard by default. You'll have to use VIA to map it yourself. Follow the steps in the software chapter of this video.

hello mate, I'm new to custom keyboard, around 5:11 you said that c3 stabs will fit the board, by c3 stabs did you mean C3 equalz stabs right?

Yes, that's right. C3 stabs have smaller housings and will typically fit into plate-mounted stabilizer holes. I can't say that with absolute certainty though as I don't have any C3 stabs handy to verify.

Yes, Durock stabs usually have bigger housings than C3 stabs so the holes on the plate need to be big enough for them. Plates with holes that can accommodate plate-mounted stabilizers are usually too small for these bigger housings. I wouldn't recommend cutting the holes to make them bigger though. It just ends up being a huge hassle. You're better off just using C3 stabs or even plate-mounted stabs.
