I totally agree with you! Tutorials are great for learning but adding something your own in the project that shown in tutorial is the way to test your knowledge. ✌

I want to use my node js skills to make cool projects. Does that mean i must learn a frontend framework? I just want to comcentrate on backend part beacause this is what i enjoy. Also, will a full stack project help for university CS application as extracurricular ? Thanks. Appreciate your videos.

I guess it depends what you consider “cool.” It is certainly possible to make a backend only project, but in most cases that is just an incomplete project imo. As for college applications, honestly I don’t know. It probably depends on the specific university, but in general I would guess it isn’t all that important unless you had a really unique story with it.
