I know nothing about these things just bought the PS4 for my son and attached to the purchase the recommended dual charger but while unpacking I didn't know if I had made a smart purchase or sh just gotten a long cable. The Ps4's battery life is pretty awful. 2 rechargeable AA batteries in my 360 controllers would last what felt like forever.

I've had the PowerA charger for at least 2 years now, didn't have a problem and they charged really well. but in the past 2 weeks I've been noticing they're charging a lot slower - and I just plugged one in about an hour ago (1/3 bars were gone on the battery, just wanted it fully charged again for tonight - mind you, I've charged them without the battery being completely drained since I bought them and didn't have an issue for 2 years), and when I turned the controller on it was showing that the power was almost completely drained... I've also noticed recently when I use them the battery life isn't near as long. Feels like the charger is just draining the batteries now. I don't get it, after 2 years of them being just fine... has anyone else had this issue?

..or just get longer usb cables, for under $5 you could be able to charge WHILE playing, don't like messy cables? get a pack of Velcro cable ties for also under $5 and you can have everything nice, neat and together.

I got that nyko charger. It's a good charger and probably the best out there for your buck. Worth the buy.

Had the nyko charger for quite a while and it works awesome I have 3 controllers and have long gaming sessions so i just swap out when they die. Also it's not hard to click them in lol it kinda sits itself in position and u push down.

Come on man! So you have one of two options; Either play with these long unsightly cables attached to your controller or use a charging station? What about playing without a cable and charging the controller with a cable? This video did very little to explain to me what the beenefits of these charging stations are over simply plugging the controller into a USB charger like I would my phone. My phone doesn't go onto a charging station and I'm not forced to use it with "long unsightly cables" attached to it.

I have the power A charging station but it so worth it if all your controllers are dead you can charge 2 at the same time

I use the USB wire connected to my laptop...for PS3 I use Energizer dual-controller charger.

15$ is not cheap considering its for "Convenience" pretty sure theres a type of DIY that could cost 5$ cause thats honestly what that chargers worth for

They're right, the PowerA is awesome.

I had the power A charger and it was a pain in the ass!! Every time Id put it in the cradle it wouldn't charge or accidentally turned my system back on. Really annoying. I can't speak for the Nyko model though. I highly recommend the Energizer charger, its secure and it has the led lights, which I prefer.

I have the PowerA one & I like the design & how it sets & is easy to use but.. Idk if this is just a problem I have. When you put them on & click them in they charge pretty fast but if you don't take them off or click them back up it for some reason drains them. I've charged them, the light bars turn off when they are done charging (it pulses during charge) then they're good to go but if I leave it on there & I know it's fully charged I take it off & it's completely dead. So you can't leave them on it. & I've also put them on its just as a stand but the weight of the DS4 kinda slyly pushes down on it just enough the connectors hit or something, not enough to turn it on & start charging but just enough to drain it. Idk I like it but it has its draw backs. Maybe I got a bad one or it's just my controllers. I can charge them with the USB & unplug it & leave them for days & they still have full or almost full charge but with the PowerA I charge them up, leave them on the stand & a day or two later they're completely dead, won't even turn on.

Ps4 and Xbox one. Consoles that require additional chargers or batteries to use their controllers. And plus the amazing availability of not being able to sustain 4k display games with 60fps!!!

The real mystery behind this is Xbox One still using batteries to power their controllers. It's 2015.

The apower one is the cheapest made crap ever controller doesnt stay secure in it and half the time even after making sure it was in right and charging i would come home start using it and have it die just a couple hours later so unless i put a cinder block on top of it the controller dosen't even weigh enough to stay connected.

I have the Nyko charger and it's pretty good except the pieces that go on the controller break too easily. One controller broke cause I dropped it a foot from the ground and the other broke for no reason cause I rarely use it. I am about to buy the other one to try it

From my own opinion the PowerA isn't durable and usually stops charging 1 side or even both after a short time of use

They're both good but I do recommend the power a first he said they charge the same bull crap I've had them both the power recharges the controllers and no more than 2 hours, the night go sometimes seems like it takes almost 3

Yeah why not just sony let us deactivate the lights and some of the functions from an frimware update. It's our console anyway,you bought you have it.

These are okay but a micro usb charger is just more convenient.

I prefer these options to charge my controller.. cause my friend borrowed my control and use his phone charge and damaged my controller.

Nyko charger wasn't reliable. I would leave a controller to charge and come back to a controller with no charge. I switched to energizer and it has been way better.

I don't know about all THIS, but I know I need a better way to keep my controllers charged.

well what i have for my xbox1 they have a automatic large btry u just stick rit into ur btry usage controller n u dont ever have to buy no batteries or nothing ik ps4 doesnt have a btry usage behind there controllers but be pretty neat if they have jus a small automatic charging unit it would cost $10tops cuz all it would be is like a small chip n rit up top the chip would be the btry charging unit that makin ur charging chip charge up ur ps4 controllers for hours or days or still playing n u would never get tired of hating bout how annoying u would get pist off cuz ur controller would run out of energy in a couple of hrs or so but the salution is rit automatic ps4 controller unit dont get me rong guys what would ur best salution be if ur wired controller to ur ps4 just outages on u n says all the time power is low n it still pluged in or what bout the other units u try n try to put ur controllers in those unit stand but u have a hard time thinking is it charging or not but if there is a charging chip unit for the ps4 on amazon or ebay i would so get it n stop worrying bout how low my ps4 controller can be such a nosence but like if u agree
