I have been telling this to women and men for years. Forget looks and acts of service, unless that’s your love language, fall in love with someone’s character traits. Are they supportive, understanding, compassion, empathic, intelligent, giving, generous etc. These things are the basis for emotional and psychological bonding. I have been married to my best friend of 14yrs for 10yrs now and we are going strong. This man will do any and everything for me. We will ride hard for one another no questions asked. We have been soulmates from day 1. And this is why so many men I dated didn’t like him 😂. I guess they knew he had something up his sleeve.

Loyal AF- cooked; bought food, bought sheets, shoes, things to make the room more comfortable (he rented out a room) and I got dumped on a crowded train. 🤦🏾‍♀️😂 (I can laugh about it now). I felt so betrayed and after the breakup he yo-yoed with my emotions for another 3 months before I was just like “fuck this!” and cut off contact with him. I did everything for him to helping with rent and cable bills and even stopped paying my own bills to help him. I later realized he didn’t love me, but loved the role I played in being able to make his life easier and what I contributed to him. I’m now in a relationship where he shows that he values me and we legit grow together.
