That’s great advice. I dated a guy who was cheap and ended up marrying him. He was so cheap that it was embarrassing. He served me divorce papers when I was getting chemo treatments and we had been married for 10 years. His cheapness was definitely a red flag and a constant irritation in our marriage.

( I don't kiss on the first date anyway) but after the date he msgd me and asked why I seemed different at the end. I told him point blank I was turned off by what he did... he tried for a veryyyyy long time to make it up to me...but I could never see him differently after what he did. I was soooo turned off. Yes, 35 years ago a new boyfriend did that for me, he planned a surprise picnic. I found it really charming! Then on another date he cooked me a special ethnic meal that I had never tried before and followed up with serenading me with his classical guitar playing. It was all so charming and I did stay with him for a couple of years. Our relationship motivated him to strive for the employment that he was hoping for.

I think a lot of people need help with how to have meaningful relationships as evidenced by high divorce rates, reluctance to commit to marriage, and high domestic violence situations. Plus dating apps that are mainly hook up opportunities. It’s worrisome. Steve often addresses relationship issues and has professional guests on his shows who give excellent advice. Social media is interfering with normal human interactions and connections.

I disagree with this on Steve. We all need for someone to always have our backs husbands and wives. Sisters brothers neighbors. Why is it different for parents and children.
