THE BEST SHANK FIX DRILL EVER
This video provides a drill to help fix a shank shot. its very simple and can eliminate the shanks very easily. It also can be used if you come over the top too much, give it a watch and see if it can help you out.

Matt - I stumbled on this yesterday after watching about 10 videos on the "shanks" that had no impact on solving my "little problem". This drill of practice swinging and coming inside and not hitting the ball is brilliant!! This completely solved my shank issue I have had for the last 2 weeks...it was soooo frustrating, I literally had several "I am done!" moments. So thanks for this video, it saved my sanity. This will be my new routine!

Andrew, I'm a single digit handicap and started doing this after the 10th hole of a fantastic round 3 weeks ago. Since then, my game has been severely off with tons of wedge shanks. So much so that I was almost at quitting point. Saw this drill earlier from another lad and noe on Matt's channel. They key here is to feel the feel of when you miss and apply that to the ball. Works like a charm!

I was struggling with over the top swing with my irons. I made this part of my pre-shot routine when I played this past Friday and I hit the ball solid. Thanks for the tip!

good video, nice drills. although I am confused, I have a case of the shanks at the moment and it is ruining my rounds, so I have watched a lot of videos on it. most pros say it is caused by too much of an in to out path which makes sense that the ball contacts the hosel, however you say because of an out to in path! I wish there was a consensus because it is confusing! although I understand every golfer is different. mine is when the ball is below my feet and my weight moves towards my toes,with an in to out swing is deadly.

One of my favourite drills thanks Matt. I’ve been struggling with those very short pitches / long chips (30-40 yards) and this helped.

I like to set up two golf balls. Set up on the outside ball then hit the ball lined up on the inside.

I have a natural draw and i got down to about 4 handicap then all of a sudden started shanking it and have tried a 100 things to fix this. I felt like i was coming from inside with heal but i took a few practice swings trying this and it felt great i pray to the golf gods this works lol

Great drill Matt thank you! I've had 2 rounds since golf re-opened that i had to abandon due to unplayable shanks but having done this at the range for a few sessions i'm hitting them better than ever. Only thing i'd add is to make sure you stand taller and plant your weight in your heels!

Yes indeed, I've been practising hard to get rid of the dreaded slice & shank. I found the drill really challenging at first, but once I got it I really found its benefit.

Hey matt, old vid i know but im struggling and i tried this drill, my issue is i now hit a constant hook, better than a shank but i dont know how to get out of this :(

Hi Matt...i know, it's a older Video.., but every time currently. I swing to much from the inside(with the irons and wedges) and...shank😩. You have a easy drill for me!? Greetings from germany 👍

Do this drill where you miss. After the 3rd time missing, the feel you got from the swing gets applied to the ball. You'll strike it solid

I absolutely love your stuff,Matt, but I'm going to be a bit cheeky here. Sorry to say it, mate, but your video quality isn't quite up to the mark. The picture isn't sharp enough and there is always a slight hiss on the audio. Maybe it's something to look at because it's a bit irritating (probably like myself) and lets your excellent product down. Keep them coming, Matt, you're doing great.

The pic was my fault on this one, others better I’ve just shot. The hiss is a massive waterfall we have outside the bays for the adventure golf, I’ve edited to the best I can to reduce it, but you still hear it in the videos. Going to shoot some others on the course so they should be spot on 👍

The sh#*k's will test a player's sanity. Loss of appetite, unproductive on the job, bouts of rage, as well as not performing up to par in the bedroom. We all know it takes a mere 1 and that shot is in your head every time you try and hit a little wedge. Looking waaaay right, checking on what you might hit. Pondering if it's worth the humiliation to ask the beverage girl to back up a bit (*cough*... 20 yards) in front of your entire foursome. The shanks and the shits are two golfing nightmares.

Sorry Matt your wrong here - best thing is to put all your loose change into your left pocket, tie your left shoe in a double knot, put your cap on backwards and put a tee behind your left ear. Basics.... tut #tincup
