I just got Steely Dan Can’t Buy a Thrill UHQR and the remix release from last month. The re release was good but the UHQR is amazing. The other UHQR I have is the Jimmie Hendrix Electric Lady Land. I found Hendrix a little bright. I’ve pre ordered the next Dan UHQR from acoustic sound.

As a sound engineer and multi instrumentalist my criteria is hearing all the instruments equally well at all volumes. In that regard, three stand out. (And all analog). "Leftoverture" by Kansas. "Moving Pictures" from Rush (And I'm not even a big fan of the band). and The YES Album. The White Album? As much as I love the Beatles, I always felt that was an exceptionally weak recording.

I got the Counting Crows double lp a few months back for a little over $30. This is a criminally underrated album. If people look past the poppy Mr. Jones (which, I think is one of the weakest songs of the album) you are in for a powerhouse of an album. It's simply a beautiful work of art.
