Excellent analysis, with one missed call-out: Bobby is the only character in The Expanse who has the guts to get right into "Designated Last Man Standing" Amos' face ready to square up with a very, VERY good chance at actually mopping the floor with him. In a hand-to-hand fight between Amos and Bobby, always bet on Bobby.

I'ts really hard to pick up a favorite character on The Expanseverse, Bobby is a Top choice! My perfect expanse woman will have the Leadership, Eyeliner and accent of Camina, The Cunning, voice and garments of Avasarala, The morals, the gaze and strenght of Draper. “Gender of Gundam.” That’s spot on given that Tomino, the creator of the Gundam franchise, always said the original RX-78-2 Gundam was a female, hence her hip to waist to chest ratio and that the cockpit is where her uterus would be. I will now forever see Bobbie Draper as the model Tomino had in mind.

There are so many awesome characters in The Expanse that i find it hard to rank my favorites. But Bobbie is among them for sure. So are Amos, Alex, Drummer, Miller and of course the most lovely most swearing UN politician from earth. This vid made me again sigh in relief that Bobbie and Amos didn't start a fight on bord of the Rocinante. There is only so much even a warship can handle ;-)

It's interesting that like DS9 the female characters in The Expanse act and react naturally and don't feel forced. Not one of them.

That was one helluva introduction. I now completely understand Holden's reaction to first meeting Bobby in the books. The giant, toned Martian war goddess entered the air lock wearing little more than a skin tight racing suit. Holden felt his lizard hind brain vasillate between "mate with it" " FLEE FROM IT" " mate with it" "FLEE FROM IT". Holden managed to fumble through some conversation to Bobby's amusement.

Frankie Adams killed it in this show, it was a big shock as a kiwi seeing her in something other than New Zealand soap operas. I hope she gets more work as an actor overseas.

Bobbie is an excellent character amongst a plethora of excellent characters. The Expanse is the show we needed to discover in the wake GOT left.

It is very satisfying to see her punches. You can feel the "OOMF" of the fist in your bones.

It's suprememly important to differentiate between Frankie Adams playing the part of a character in a book - and how good she does - and what the script or book describes. Adams did a great job, and props to who cast her in the role - another actress probably would have been a flop. Give credit to the what happened in the tv show, but give more credit to the actor filling the part so well.

Bobbie is awesomely brave and badass. I don't think she started see the Martian corruption because she was individualistic, I think it was because what her superiors were asking of her was for her to throw one of her men under the bus which directly conflicted with her moral code. She couldn't understand why they were asking her to go along with betraying another Martian Marine.

Everytime I read her name in the books my brain translates it to "Iron Fist".

Bobbie is the only person in the solar system that can take Amos in an all out fight and not die.

The line "that's recon gear, she could feed you that pistol if she wanted to" is a line from the book and refers to Bobby's reaction speed and strength being greatly enhanced to the point where she' might be able to take the pistol away from the soldier before she can finish pulling the trigger

the sandwiches bobbie instanty inhaled are a great detail because they are cucumber sandwiches, cucumbers having not enough nutritional value to justify the amount of water needed to grow them for martians, so cucumbers are a luxury product for bobbie, and im sure thats why they are there in the first place.

One of my favorite opening scenes with a gunny is when she gets a board the rocinante with Christian. She and Amos almost got into a fight over him defacing the Martian flag

You know, Ben, as a United States Marine, even though it's Mars, when they're yelling MMC, it makes my heart swell. Captured USMC behavior perfectly. Let me just quote Elanor Roosevelt, “The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!” We are proud. EDIT: It wasn't the easiest way, probably, for Bobby to get the Razorback, BUUUUUUUUUUUT... You give a Soldier a grenade and say "Take out that tank." That soldier will take out that tank, but it'll probably be sophisticated and smart (for lack of better explanation). Marine, same scenario. Runs at the tank and finds a way to take out said tank. We all get the job done, we just do it via diverse methods. Marines take it head on, because either pride or stupidity, we must get it done.

Bobbie's definitely my favorite Sci-Fi character since Starbuck, with Drummer a close second. Her interactions with Avasarala are some of my favorite scenes - they're both adorably blunt with that sort of deadpan humor that kills me. I hope we see more of them together.

I had to stop after the first 3 minutes for a friendly pat on the back. This is good copy. Kinda fits perfectly, like the Emperor's men only picked up a flair for the dramatic after being exposed to ancient texts on Mars. Yes, these two universes just became interconnected in my head because you wrote a poem about a space marine. I'm ok with that.

Looks interesting, another good video. Yo think you guys do something battletech related? Not a very popular genre, while is space battles aren't as grand as some of the other sci-fi genre. They do have intense ground battles. From the infantry , armored vehicles, tnks, aerospace fighters, to the battlemechs themselves. That games are good but the novels and comics from back then showed just how intense the battles could get. Don't own any books anymore but I read them a lot when I was little ^^ a lot of people had Star Wars, warhammer, Star Trek novels and comics they read. But I found myself drawn to battletech for some reason. Thanks to a friend I'm kindness of back into battletech once more. Anyways I hope one day you all do something involving that setting one day
