VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
In this video, I have covered the main ideas behind the Stonewall Attack, for White. For those who want to keep opening theory to the minimum, you are unlikely to find a better chess system than the Stonewall Attack. The Stonewall Attack is a chess system where white seeks to quickly put their central pawns on dark squares, maintaining a firm grip over the e5 square. Kaspa, you're a genius! This episode re: the "Stonewall" really resonates with me. I adopted 1.P-KB4 when starting to play chess during the 70's. Bird's Opening is probably inferior, but few players are familiar with it, along with Black's counterpart, the Dutch Defense. Thank you for another wonderful video, Kaspa. 🇨🇦

Hi Kaspa, I have played this stone wall setup. Your explanation was very clear. Pls do make a tutorial with this set up on black pieces & it would be nice if you could challenge few players playing the stone wall setup.

That's interesting advocating for f3 to be the Q transfer point. If the Stonewall Attack is played like the Dutch Stonewall Defense, e1 should be the transfer point, not f3 leaving that square for either the N or the R. I suppose to a certain extent it depends on whether Black leaves his N on f6 or moves which changes the squares available for invasion. Although I don't normally strive for a Stonewall attack from the very beginning because it's so single minded, sometimes I keep its ideas in hand when playing either the Colle or Pillsbury attack because of the similar piece and pawn setups.

Hi Kaspa, might you show how to win Stonewall endgames a pawn up with your c1 bishop. Many opponents of 1800-2200 lichess strength willingly sacrifice the pawn by playing Ne4 when e4 is overprotected. But the resultant endgame isn't easy or explained in traditional sources.

At 5:42 beware. Black played 1 … Bd6 and White replied 2 Ngf3. Then Black plays 2 … cxd4 and if 3 exd4 Bxf4 and Black wins a pawn. 😢 So White would have to play 3 cxd4. You don’t want to play this move in the Stonewall because it gives Black an open c-file for his attack. Instead after 1 … Bd6 protect your f-pawn with 2 Nh3 or 2 Qf3. Then if Black plays …cxd4 you can reply exd4.

You can actually sack the knight because it pressures mate in 1so pawn has to take then queen takes pawn check then king force to a8 then rook takes knight checkmate

@@savage8771 that's completely ridiculous... Bf4 is what makes it a London! You might just as well say it's another version of the Ruy Lopez... without e4e5 Nf3Nc6 Bb5... ⁉️ Any 'version of the London' must have the move Bf4 or its simply not a London or any 'version' of it... ❗

I have a question that I really need you to answer. In the Stonewall opening with the move f4 followed by Nf3, what would happen if Black plays Bg4 or tries to restrict the development of the knight at f3?
